OK, Im installed a head unit, and am in the middle of installing subs in this guys car, hes a friend of a friend. Anyhoot, I got everything finished just have to add on a couple of cosmetic peices for the box and 7color under body kit (yuck). Then yesterday he decided to play around with the radio and took it out. He wanted to change the RCA's around cause he had some kind of in dash bass controler, and wanted to bypass the controller cause he said it wasnt as loud as it should be (was in another car before this). And this guy is not very technically inclined or anything (when my alternator broke last week and i told him that i had to drive 50mi round trip to pick up new belts, he says "wow i didnt know alternators had belts"). Well anyways he said his radio didnt work, so i felt i should check it out, it was workin last time i had seen it. I hooked it up directly to the battery with a 10amp fuse, nothing. This is after I checked the harness with the multimeter. I hooked it up to the bat and checked the voltage through the Ground on the radio and grouned it out to the engine, so im assuming that voltage is going through. I dunno I told him it was blown. He claims he never touched the wires on the radio, just the RCAs. Any Ideas of what might have happened? How could it blow with out blowing a fuse? Or u guys think he's lying (kinda what i think)?

you can mess up the head unit's RCA outputs if there is signal passing thru the RCA's and they touch metal. If the unit comes on, and plays the radio, cd, tape, or whatever... and there is no output when connected to the amps (in proper working condition)... then the outputs are toast.
