For $6K even in financing (3.9% special), I can trade in my A/C 3.5 SE for the Altima Sedan 3.5 SL.

SL retails for roughly $3K more than the 3.5 SE (without extra options), so essentially I would be paying 3k for the upgrade to the new car, plus an additional 3k for having driven the a/c the past year. I think it is reasonable, but I have a suspicion that I could get the financing down to $5K if I were totally a hardcore negotiator.

what do u think?

thx

Life's all about negotiations! Make the guy work for your business and go for $4K...then meet in the middle at $5K. Just remember, don't be afraid to get up and walk away. They want to make that sale...believe me!

Why aren't you getting an SE with premium package instead of the SL?

Not everyone is happy with 2 doors and a sardine can for a back seat..

Oh no, for me, it's all about the space! I'm a pretty big guy and the coupe is just too small for my tastes. The trunk on the sedan is three times larger than that of the coupe. There's way more headroom, legroom (even in the sedan my seat is all the way back), rear seat room, and every other space you can think of.

If you're only losing $3K on your coupe, definitely go with the sedan. The second you drove off the lot with your coupe, it depreciated about 15-20%, so essentially, you're not losing any money, you actually made out with this deal. Go for the sedan!

Well I went back and forth today thinking if I will goto the dealer and take them up on their offer, but decided against it. Although I'd really be 'losing' only 3k or so....I need to take into account also the $800 I spent on nice winter tires, plus I don't have enough spare time to have someone take out the Injen CAI and then install it in the new car (since that would cost even more $). Overall though, the reason I decided against the swap at this time is because I love the manual shift, I'm not ready for a CVT just yet.

to answer previous posts, yes I was looking for more practicality and a nicer interior,,,,, I guess that can wait though, hehe. Also, for some reason the Altima Sedan 3.5 SE manual, when purchasing the premium package, the technology package must also be purchased. I would have bought that sedan if it had only Premium package, didn't want to lay out the addtional 3.2K for navigation etc.

Now I need to get goin on some mods since I will be keeping this xcellent coupe . I saw one at the dealer with a roof scoop and spoiler, looked very nice.

thx
