What do u guys/gals drive in the winter? A beater like a 1990 oldsmobile or something, or rather something still fairly new (i.e. 2006+ camry)?

I'm in a situation where I currently own a 2008 3.5 SL w/ CVT, but I really would prefer to drive a 350z w/ stick shift for this beautiful summer. But then once it gets freezing and icy in the winter, the reliable and fairly upscale interior of the SL sedan is more practical.

So I'm thinking if I could ever afford it I would go for either a 350z (or altima coupe) plus then a camry or something, andwill pursue a discount on my insurance for having 2 cars. Is that what most of y'all do?

thx!

I think the Altima coupes are about the best looking car per dollar out there. If I had 20 grand lying around i would get a black 4cylinder with the standard wheels (not the hubcap kind though). I drive a 2003 Tiburon now as my Z is not very practical. I also like Camry's but would stay a way from the first year of the body style change. they have had a couple of reliability problems believe it or not.

I drove an expedition this past winter. After recently trying to sell it, traded it for a mustang GT auto, that is currently for sale, but for now its my beater. I need a pick up truck. I recently saw an old datson pick up that was in surprisingly good shape in my local craigslist. Hopefully its still available when i sell the GT. Then that will be my work/rain/winter vehicle. (40+ mpg).

Our winters here can be kind of mild so I may drive the Z for part of the winter (when there is very little to no snow). Other than that I can just drop my wife off at work (like 5 min drive) and use our 2000 blazer.

1997 Toyota 4Runner. The Z only comes out on nice days and track days.
