I'm poking around carsurvey.org trying to get a feel for some sedans and SUVs. The Seville's transmission is starting to slip from 1-2 and it needs new front struts. All of that totals a few grand for a car quickly approaching 200k. Its dealt with abuse and given itself generously to its owners, so its time to move on.
Carsurvey seems to fixate on reliability and things that break rather than enjoyment and design. Some of the Bentley reviews were interesting.
Not surprised:Mostly positive for Regals, Cherokees, Rivieras, Mercedes W123 and W124s, and 4.9L Cadillacs. Mostly negative for Cateras, Saabs from the late 90s through mid 2000s, and Intrepids.
Surprised:Ride quality complaints on the Bentley Continental GT. Reliability problems on the Mazda 6. Satisfied Range Rover owners.
