Whats up Nico, I have a slight problem with my car. Bought the car with the CEL on, was told it's the egr. I changed the egr tube, because it was cracked bad.....Cleared the codes, then ran again.....The CEL popped up again, so I scanned it. And it said........(1) o2 malfunction, bank 1 sensor 1(2) map/baro circuit malfunction(3) map/baro circuit malfunction (Pending)(4) manufacturer control fuel/air metering-----------------------------------------------------These are the codes that stayed erased----(still inconclusive, assuming related to the egr, and have to drive to reset)(1) Catalist monitor(2) Evap system monitor(3) o2 sensor monitor(4) o2 sensor heater(5) egr system monitor-----------------------------------------------------I also noticed that when you push the auto shifter all the way forward, and hold it. The engine idle drops, and surges for a couple seconds. Can anyone put all this together, and try and throw me some suggestions?? Thanks to all that read this.

A little rough, and the top codes are still up. The bottom section is still pending. Do you have an idea, really not trying to take it to nissan.

take you EGR off and clean it, sometimes they get carbon build up in side and stay opend. which will cause it to run ruough.

also check the spark plugs, burnt or fould plugs will cause the car to run a bit rough.

and check the cap and rotor button for carbon tracking( white dust particles )

(1) o2 malfunction, bank 1 sensor 1 This usely means that you fist sensor ( closest to the engine which is the one on the header is bad or not reading properly ) you can pick one up at you local store or go to http://www.sparkpluge.com

(2) map/baro circuit malfunction check the codes again our cars (240's ) don't have a map sensor ( manifold absolut pressure sensor) they are equiped with maf sensors ( Mass air flow sensor )

(3) map/baro circuit malfunction (Pending) I would check the wires sometimes with age they get britle and the plastice surounding the wire brakes off. causing a malfunktion

Yeah I know, that's why its weird to me. I pulled the maf plug let it die and pop a code. Just to see what happened, and it gave a maf sens malf. So thats why I think its not the maf. The egr, I just changed. Didn't clean it, but the code went pending. And I haven't had time to drive it and clear it yet.

[QUOTE]The egr, I just changed. How much trouble is it to change the EGR? I have been looking for this info but had no luck. I have a 95 that needs one.

I could take some pics and make a tutorial tomorrow. It was not that tough, just really awkward. And be sure to have a full can of pb blaster.

Just got the diagnosis, from Nissan. They are saying it's the o2 sensor, which I knew. And the boost sensor, which I didn't even know I had?? Anyone know where it is, so I can change it? I assume it's for vacume control.

*Update* I changed the o2, and drove it. The cel stayed off the whole time....Till I came home, and shut it off. When I got back in and started it, the cel came back on. I threw some of the same codes, like...(2) map/baro circuit malfunction (4) manufacturer control fuel/air metering knock sensor/ bank 1 sensor 1Wtf is bad with this car, would the knock sensor make the air metering, and whatever the map/baro is?

240sx does have barometric pressure sensor (some call it map, others baro. The FSM calls it "Absolute Pressure Sensor").

The section on it is on EC-111 in the 240sx 96 FSM. Could be a cracked or cloged hose
