What Do I need to upgrade my speakers.

Heys guys,

Just got a few questions about Audio and video. I'm planning on upgrading my speakers in my pathfinder. What do I need and what size of speaker do I need for front door and back. Second question is about my double stock deck. I'm planning on putting in a alpine or pioneer double din deck. What do i need to get that installed.

Here's what I did a while back. I've since then upgraded to a Pioneer AVIC-Z3 Nav Deck.

Upgrade the wiring while you're at it - stock wiring is very small and the sound quality isn't very good...go down a couple guages and you'll notice an increase in clarity...I need to go my speakers/head unit, too...tired of listening to my tape deck squeak and whine when I use my ipod...and that's about all I use anymore, so it's getting pretty friggin annoying.

Back in 01 I bought my first deck with an axillary input. Since then I have used nothing but my iPod (early iPod adopter) and don't see a reason for change. Back then it was just an input on the deck so everything had to be controlle from the iPod, now it's all controlled through the deck. Some definitely perform better then others though. My old deck AVIC-D3 ($800 Retail) had much better control then my current AVIC-Z3 Deck ($1,800 retail) Needless to say I'm not 100% happy with it.

BTW I agree 100% with completely rewiring the system and you've probably got 6.5" speakers all the way around and don't forget the 1.5" tweeters in the A-Pillar.
