What do I need to do if I decide to install a factory GPS NAVI, SYS. on 01' I30

Hello Everyone!

I reallly like to install a gps navi stock one on my base 2001 I30. What do I need to do to acheive this goal of mine?

If the 2001 is anything like the 2009 maxima I wouldnt worry about it. when I worked at nissan I installed the dash pads and cd players, as well as various other dash components. The difference in the newer model starts with the wiring harness behind the dash. as well as 2 gps antennas mounted under the pad, and different cd player's, navi controlls, and the center waterfall section used different pieces. Im positive it would be cheaper to go with a good quality aftermarket navi setup

Yeah, there's a LOT more to it than just swapping out the nav screen and antenna. The way options are packaged these days, if a car doesn't come with an option it generally isn't ready (as far as wiring) for it. There are exceptions, but for the most part that's how it works. Installing factory nav after the fact in newer Maximas has proven incredibly expensive.
