Im rebuilding a T28 at the moment and I want to know what I need. At the current time I have the following installed:Z32 MAFChipped ECU (for 370cc injectors, z32 maf)370cc injectorsplus other things that arent needed for the swap.

Now I have the following sitting in my garage that arent installed as of yet but will be installed when I swap the turbo's. 550cc injectors, walbro 255lph pump, safc2, turbo timer, and I'll just swap over the actuators from the t25 to the t28. Now I was wonderings. Do I have to rechip the ecu or can I run the SAFC2 over the ecu?.

Also, I need to know if I need a wideband oxygen sensor? If so, I would need the whole setup as in sensor, reader, and wires. I remember seeing one of our sponsors had one for $249. Can someone point me in the right direction?

To make the MOST of that setup, I would run the following--

550cc injectors, Z32 MAF, re-tuned ECU for the 550s and MAF, SAFC to do some fine-tuning, and YES a wideband is a necessity. Please do not try and tune without one. I got the AEM UEGO off ebay for like $250 shipped. Its nice because it's just a single 52mm gauge. Keep in mind, you do not want to use the SAFC to compensate for an injector jump that large. Keeping your adjustments less than 10% correction on the SAFC is the safest.

Ok.. It was my understanding that you can overcompensate by 33% so I would have been ok with just a safc.... I'll go ahead and get the ecu reprogrammed.... Any other recommendations?

Im going to bump this thread because I have the turbo going in the car next week and all I need is the wideband O2. Any other recommendations? Also, where do I go from here? Bigger turbo? T3/T4? Upgrade the valvetrain? Internals and whatnot?

as long as you have fuel. then you are great. i would take time to make sure you don't have any boost leaks and make sure the lines to the turbo are nice and not worn. just basic maintenace stuff while your in there.

The reason you don't want to use more than a 10% correction with the SAFC is that because it alters the MAFS signal, that also effects the timing, potentially in a negative manner.

Yes, the lower the amount of air, the more timing the ecu gives. Too much timing and kaboom!

Now, with all this stuff being said, Im questioning my aftermarket Felpro headgasket. Can I run the T28 @ 12PSI safely with my engine being tuned correctly and not have to worry about the headgasket blowing?

I wouldn't worry about it.

The Felpro should be fine. I think another member has been running it for a while w/o a problem.
