Okay, so I leased my '07 G35x back in Jan/February, ever since I've had headache after headache. First it started with my power steering pump. It completely failed and had to be replaced, taking almost two full weeks to be replaced! Fast forward a little more and now my rear rotors and pads had to be replaced too! I had to bring the car in 3 times before they "found a problem" and proceeded to cut the rotors (which i was not happy about) The problem persisted and now I had strong vibration feedback while braking! The rear rotors were warped and the car squealed like a NYC taxi cab in rush hour. They finally took care of the problem by replacing the entire assembly. A few days later the front rotors and pads were also replaced because of the same damn reason! Interestingly enough, while driving home after picking the car up I made a left turn with the windows open, a huge plume of smoke hits me in the face!! I get home a few minutes later to find both front brakes chugging a lot of SMOKE, it smelled like burning hair. There was so much smoke i almost thought the brakes were on fire. I'm ALSO still waiting on the weather stripping to be replaced too - it will take more then a month for the part to come in because of its "back order" status (this is after it was "fixed" a month before). I also had misc problems like the rear view mirror rattling (still a problem), the padding on the sunroof coming off, and the heated the seats not functioning properly.

I'm tired of going to the dealership, they all know me and my car, and thats not exactly a good thing on a brand new 07 car. I contacted Infiniti Consumer affairs, they told me that as long as the car can be repaired I have to keep wasting my time taking the car to the dealer every time something goes wrong, that they're only involved when the car is unrepairable (according to a guy named Sherman from consumer affairs). I went ahead and contacted Infiniti customer satisfaction/support but I'm still awaiting a callback. Anyone have any advice for me? If this ends in a dead end road I'm considering getting a different car within the Infiniti family, but I just can't baby sit this thing like a disabled child.

I would look into the lemon law in your state. It is definitely one. IMO.

As what everyone else says, and call ICA again and talk to someone else.

Omegamerc:

If I were you, I would in a very calm manner make an appointment to speak to the owner of the dealership. Ask for a replacement vehicle such as another G35/G37 Sedan 6 speed manual or perhaps a M35 below cost.Your vehicle is clearly a lemon. I am very happy with my 06 G35 Sedan and the only problem that I've had so far was a defective wheel sensor which was replaced for free under the warranty. I know some New Yorkers hate New Jersey but you may want to take a ride some Saturday to Circle Infiniti in West Long Branch, NJ. I am very happy so far with Circle where I purchased my 06 G35Long Branch also has a very nice beach and nearby restaurants. have a good trip.

Hey Ron:

Since I had a few (far less than you) problems with mine too, I looked into this. Depending on the laws in your state, your car is almost definitely an official lemon. In Maryland, once a car has been out of service for 30 days within the first 4 years or the duration of the standard manufacturers warranty period, it is officially a lemon. In your case it sounds like it has been out of service for longer than 30 days. If it is officially a lemon, I wouldn't even bother negotiating with the dealership or with Infiniti customer service. I would follow the official law in NY and mail and official letter, etc., or at least have that letter ready with you when you go in to discuss this issue with the dealership.

If the car is declared a lemon, Infiniti will have to mark it as such permanently and will have serious trouble selling it, so to them it is a total loss. However, it does not affect your dealer as far as I know other than having an unhappy customer. Having said that, Infiniti will probably fight the lemon classification tooth and nail unless you make it official.

Regards,Tamir

My car is very close to hitting the 30 day mark, maybe a week or so left... I talked to the owner, he was nice enough to treat the incident with a high priority and actually call me as promised the next day, he said he will have a resolution for me tommorow afternoon.

So i spoke to the owner of the dealership and he agreed that a brand new car shouldn't be having these issues. They are calling me tomorrow (tuesday) to arrange for a 250 point inspection And he mentioned he would see what the north eastern Infiniti rep and the dealer (himself) could do to get me out of the car, because this is not acceptable. I guess we'll see what happens...
