ok so here's the story. i've been doing my 5 lug sap over the last couple of days and i was on the last wheel. the drivers side rear. all bolts were off but the lower ball joint was stuck. this is where i had my blond moment and started banging on it without the nut on the threads and i ****ed up the ball joint threads. there's no chance of getting the nut back on b/c i compressed the threads where the cotter pin hole is....

so now what steps need to be taken to replace that ball joint. do i take off the snap ring then the rubber boot then hammer out the ball joint? and if thats what i do to remove it how do i put the new one back in?

any help would be apreciated.

they make special tools to remove ball joints. You can rent one from autozone, schuck's, and maybe napa. It's relatively simple if you have the right tools. Other than that, good luck.

Nissan will want to sell you the whole a-arm. There is a c clip that you have to remove then you need a hydraulic press to get it out. Moog makes a replacement. SPL makes a after market replacement (will effect your roll center). I'm sure that there a few others that make them as well. The third option is get one from a parts recycler or post up on the wtb board.
