For RB25det, I am hearing there is a difference in throwout bearing between the stock RB and the NA 300zx. I am comparing the two and there doesn't seem to be any difference in the size.

I hear that you need to get the 300zxtt throw out bearing. Any truth to that?

I just replaced my TO bearing when I put my clutch in. I used a 300zx TT TO bearing and it matched up perfect. There is a piece the needs to be pressed in the bearing but I'm not sure if the NA bearing will let it fit.

So can I use the NA 300zx TO bearing or do I need to get a 300zxtt one?

TTT, I have the na 300zx bearing and when I slid it onto the input shaft of the trans, it was extremely loose, as in, 1/4" all the way around the inside of it....is there something I'm missing?

I am using the TO bearing from the clutch kit I got which was for the 300zx NA. Working fine so far.

Is there some kind of sleeve or insert for the middle of the bearing?

No sleeve. Just put it on with the rotating ring facing towards the pressure plate. That ring makes the contact with the pressure plate.

That's weird, I've just never seen a t.o. bearing that is that oversized. It's like putting a thumb ring on your pinky.

I didn't have to use a sleeve. Check out the pics I have comparing the two side by side at http://www.imagestation.com/members/jabello

You have the sleeve there in the picture though...you're saying you didn't use it? Does the RB20 have a smaller input than the rb25 I'd assume?

Here is one sold for an S13 KA24DE,

"Release bearing holder" I wonder if a KA sleeve would work or if a Z32 would...hmm..

Talking about the release bearing holder? Of course you use that from the RB. Slide the 300zx TOB onto that witht the rotating ring facing towards the pressure plate.

yeah..I threw mine out with the bearing...my last car didn't need one so I wasn't aware of it.

I'm going to napa now to see if a stock 240 one will work..

Stock 240 one is longer. May work, but I would be afraid of premature contact with the pressure plate due to its extra length, not to mention I have no idea if the sleeve diameter is the same as the RB one.

good luck man, post something if you find a solid answer.

Well, I got the 240 bearing, and it fits perfect on the shaft, but I don't know about the length because I don't have one to compare to...can someone measure theirs?
