took it once.. and decided that was good enough. It's too stressful taking those kinds of tests.. I just hope I won't have to take any SAT II's..

1310

that was in the 9th grade. i took the psat in the 7th for my score class and scored a 1090. they even tried to make me do post secondary classes at MGC but i went down there, saw the nerds that were there and never went back. now my family always asks when i'll stop doing construction work and go to college. i just tell them that i can go to college and get a worthless degree or i can work and make more money than most people that have gone to college.

Construction is one of the ONLY professions that you can reasonably easily rise to an income level above alot of college graduates. My Uncle never went to college, and he makes more money than I could ever dream of, but he's one of those guys that walks the fine line between genious and insanity, I'm not even sure what he does for a living, just that he travels alot, mostly to Japan.

760 Math, 660 Verbal. One try only. Many years ago!

Back in my day, we took Achievement tests also (800 in Math, 800 in Physics and 640 in English). Are they still required?

Judging from this thread, its safe to assume that we were a bunch of slackers in HS. 2.9 GPA here.

SAT - 1090GPA - 2.4

I didn't do ONE thing of homework in HS, didn't crack open a textbook, and didn't study for tests. As for the SAT I didn't give a damn and guessed on half the questions. lol

I had a 105ish GPA in HS. We didn't go by the 4.0 scale. I was a slacker too but I care about my future so I always did the bare minimum to get by.

Not that it matters, but 1410 SAT (700 Math, 710 Verbal) and 4.4 GPA (4 pt scale with Honors credits). 3.98 GPA unweighted.

It seems so long ago...

I had something like a 3.2 gpa in high school...but in college I'm at a 2.3 which is going to drop somewhere under 2 when this semesters grades come out. Goddamn attendance rules (its ****in ridiculous to have to go to class in college, its my damn money!)

DAMN STRAIGHT! I hate having tutorials being required and given credit based upon attendance. Especially when they are at 9 am on a Friday morning...but oh well I over slept this and last weeks anyway.

105/100 I think. And I wasn't even top of my class. I think my rank was like 20 or something. Stupid magnet schools.

we never got merit points. It is strictly performance based grading. I dont believe merit points should count towards your gpa.

No because some people would take either an extra AP course or get like .05 higher on their class average. My school was VERY competitive. Class rank ended up boiling down to the .001. All classes were honors courses, so it was x1.1, then there were star classes x1.15 then APs were x1.2 in order to get the weighted GPA. Everyone had to take and score highly on a standardized test to get in. It doesn't accept anyone with a C or behavioral problems. Second oldest HS in the nation.

But yeah... college is pretty easy thanks to the prep but it's still freaking wicked time consuming.

it is almost always to your advantage to take it twice. Study the kinds of things you saw when you took it the first time.

An engineer at BU or college in general?

I'm a poli sci and east asian studies major... both of which I have pretty extensive knowledge of already so it's a breeze. My stupid college requires me to take two lab sciences though and that is kicking my *** hardcore. I hate math and science.

I took what they told me was the SAT in 7th grade, got a 960, since then I've heard it was really just the PSAT.

PSAT sophomore year was a 1240.PSAT this year I dunno yet, probably in that 1240-1300 range... but it's the new one that's out of 2400 points, so add whatever my writing (my forté) score will be... I'm guessing a 1950-2100. Those bastards changed it just for MY class ('06... such a youngin...)

Actual SAT I'll take in March or April, since none of the schools I'm applying to will take the old one, and the new one isn't administered til March... (cough, school, GA Tech cause I don't want to have to pay out of state tuition because then I might have to pay for my own schooling, which, while noble, would be kinda pointless since my major isn't offered at the one school out of state that interests me that much- Univ. of Chicago... I don't like the cold anyway...)

Anyways... so yeah.

Most of my friends test really well. I had the lowest PSAT score of them by 60 pts. Most of them also have higher GPAs (mine's a mid-high 3). Oddly, they have 0 street smarts and are about as suave as a drunk hobo.
