What did you buy for your EX, this week?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Sliverstar Ultra halogen replacements.

Next: In search of a classy version of LED daytime running lights. Don't want something cheap looking. Want it to look like it was meant to be there. 6 to 9 LEDs in a black housing to mount on the black grill. Still trying to find the perfect ones. Not sure if they should be a straight bar like the Porsche or an angled bar like the Mercedes? I don't think I want the flexible stuff around the headlights like an audi...

Any suggestions?

You must be getting good gas mileage to only buy 10.5 gallons! :rotfl

@XIS

I have never seen an aftermarket LED DRL application that maintained a classy OEM look. I don't personally like it but would definitely be interested in being proven wrong.

ckong - I agree as it relates to the EX. I have seen some DRL applications that looked great (honda S2000 for one).. they had a LED housing that fit perfect in the grill corners.

I actually ordered just the flexible strips after all (light emits from side, not from top). I think I can install them so they are not visible when the car is off (hide them at the underside of the top of the black lower grill) For $12 shipped - it should be worth the effort and if they look cheap, I didn't loose too much $$

Fun thread. :)

I just replaced the crappy Dunlop tires with Bridgestone Ecopia ep422 over the weekend.
Was thinking to post in the tire thread after I got more mileage on it but here are my initial impressions:

Low Rolling Resistence (LRR) really makes difference. I am now driving much lightfoot and steering feels lighter too. I do almost 100% city and now I just let the car "slide" most of the time.

Quiet - I had it installed in Midas, Bellingham, WA, and drove back to Vancouver, BC. The pavement on I-5 wasn't great but I didn't hear much noise from tires, mostly from the wind.

Smoother ride - During my daily commute I have to cross a REALLY bumpy railroad and the car shakes a lot, but now it's much better, at least doesn't make me feel uncomfortable, like I am driving a different car.

Because of LRR, it suppose to save on gas too, but maybe should wait until I empty few tanks before I can tell the difference. ;)

Tasman, I've been looking for one of those and from the pics I've seen it looks like it's just a barrier, and not something with a pocket you can put items inside of. Is that correct?

Thanks.

It is a pocket type net and not just a barrier. I may be wrong, but is seems like this one is shallower than the net I had on my older G35 sedan but it is still sufficient to hold grocery bags.

I will try to do that ASAP. I installed them yesterday. They look OK. You don't see them when it the lights are off (stuck them in the 1/8 inch gap at the highest point of the honeycomb lower grill..., but even though they are 'white LEDs', they look blue compared to my headlights and running / parking lights look even more yellow now. I will replace those parking lights with white LEDs and hopefully that will help the colors all mesh more....

I moved back from overseas recently, so restocking some garage items:
4 Gadiator cabinets
1 Gladiator workbench
Aluminum jack
4 jack stands
Bone creeper

Specifically for the EX:
Redstuff brake pads (45k miles - needs rear. Doing them all) Dealer just cut all 4 rotors under warranty.
Air filters
Drive belt
Oil and filter
radar detector

I guess I am going to be busy this weekend.

Oh yeah! Ebay.. $40 bucks. Quite worth it.! I picked the perforated all black leather instead of the smooth leather with the grey stitching since it matches great with the graphite leather (anyone need a stock EX35 knob?)
