What did you buy for your EX, this week?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

The iPod kit... is that if your EX didn't come with the iPod connection? I control my iPod with my stereo controls now (or steering controls)

I want to know someone that upgraded lights with a HID kit... one with 4300K lights (not ricer blue)... Anyone?

cf is not obsolete. All professional digital cameras uses CF due to able to read/save faster and increase the buffer.
granted, none of those are needed for MP3 car usage.

Professional cameras have started to use SD cards a few years back...(as do lower the level of pro-sumer bodies.) Actually, the REAL pro cameras use CF & SD both (2 slots) while we transition away from CF cards...
CF cards are going away... (not dead, but dying)

The adapter is the best option if you use both like me... (but I have a 6 disc changer/iPod interface and no slot in my EX)

I have 2 pro cameras ... and use if for sports photography.
Canon 1d Mark I and canon 1d Mark IV

mark IV has slots for both, but i can only get more consecutive shots if i use a CF card. It saves 50% faster than SD
I believe the new canon will use 2 CF slots.

CF will give no advantage on video recording or mp3 playback, but for continuous shooting photography it is a must. thus, it will not die anytime soon.

if the EX35 could read more than 2GB of content i would actually get an adapter myself as 32GB SD is much cheaper than CF and save that card for my sports photography usage. i just use an old CF card i have.

But hey!!! I would not complain as one thing i always hated on cars were that they never came with a card slot! I used to always buy aftermarket players that had SD slots in.

what other car out there that has CF/SD slots in their radio??? Honestly, even though SD would be better option than CF i will never complain. I am happy to have that card slot available in the car.

The EX35 (well mine anyway) can read up to an 8GB CF card... if it reads more or not I don't know but that's the biggest I've tested it.

Oh, a TRS based package?

They seem better than anyone else and that's what I had before my full conversion.
Good lucK!

Yes - TRS. I am hopeful! They might even make it here today.

R1chard - question for you... WHERE DID YOU MOUNT YOUR BALLASTS??? Not much room in there! :0

I bought some laminated covers for my fog lights. After reading on another forum about how expensive it was to replace a broken fog light I decided this would add some protection. Not going to stop a big stone but better then nothing. While applying them I did notice a lot of little pits already in the lens just from 18 months of driving. It will definitely help. Also I got the optic blue covers which look kind of cool.

On my new install, the OEM ballasts were bolted onto the bottom of the headlight where Nissan assembles them.

When I had a TRS kit, I mounted the ballasts onto the fender behind each headlight. There is barely enough room but it worked.

I would say if you're planning on accessing the are through the wheel-well area then mounting them onto the fender is really your only option.
If you plan on removing the front bumper to make the install I would say you have a lot more places to pick from, YMMV.

Well I found a spot on the frame under the hood with a hole already - front corners by the air filter box and (on the passenger side) right next to the ATF reservoir and bolted them right up. It was a relatively simple job that took me way to long just trying to get the fender liner clips back in! Boy, my arms, face, knees and anything else that touched my tires or the fender liners sure got filthy. worse than any oil change I ever did! :taz:

Output is very much improved as well as asthetics. I really am glad I got the 4300K.

my cover is never installed... first I had baseball bags back there, then hockey bags... The cover just stays in my garage. I will sell it soon.

If I didn't have the back full all the time, I would use it. It looks nice.

Just had a Curt hitch installed today with wiring harnass to tow my snowmobile trailer, and a 2" into 1 1/4" adaptor so I can attach my Thule bike rack. Now I just have to figure out how to make the
#%@&#* OEM crossbars work for my kayaks and my Thule ski box.

I will try to take those next... :)

I should have taken both photos day 1 and a comparison shot before I started, but you know how it is! Procrastinated the 'before' shots too long and then I changed them out... Now I keep procrastinating the after shots! At least I remembered to take these for someone on the M forum yesterday when it was daylight.

I did just order me some aluminum pedals with those little rubber grippy nubbies. Should look nice with my blue led lights down there.

Yeah, for $41 shipped, you can't go wrong!

My old IS300 came with them stock. When I got my RDX, it looked so bland without them...so I got some for it but they didn't have the little rubber nubbies. When I got my EX, it also looked bland. Not sure why I waited so long. It is a huge interior appearance improvement that you see each and every time you open your door!

Keep us up to date on the pedals. Maybe start a new thread (?). They don't look trivial to install. It looks like you have to drill holes and screw them into your existing pedals without even removing them? Also I think the repeated Infiniti logo 4 times on each (non-OEM) pedal is a bit cheesy. Maybe that logo could be polished off of all but the foot rest "dead pedal".

Sport pedals are definitely something missing on this car that I would enjoy. They come on the M's and look and feel great. I had them on a sports car in the past, and they were great. Please post about the quality of this particular eBay item and how the nubs feel under foot.
