Hello,

I recently installed an amp in my 94 Q45 and upon re-attaching battery ground and starting up car my tcs/slip and abs lights are on. The amp works fine tho. Is it simply the battery terminals being repositioned and loosing contact? Or something more serious?

Thanks

How's your voltage checking at the battery?

Good question Heath. Lots of lights will come on if the battery voltage is low. Does the Message Display have any information? Any other lights (brakes, abs, etc)?

Hello,

Thanks for your replies. I will check my voltage when i get home but currently the message display is working properly displaying my tripometer. Nothing seems to be loosing power such as dimming of lights etc.

Thanks.

Do you have a good connection at your battery? Any corrosion that you might need to clean up? I got those same three lights a while back when my voltage regulator went out in my alternator. Voltage was high, not low, and I got those lights so you wouldn't notice dim lights or anything like that. Put a voltmeter on the battery or test it in your cig lighter while you are in your car. Thats what I did while I drove to the shop to get the alternator replaced and I had voltages up to 18 volts while I was driving IIRC. Not good, and you can toast electrical devices. I also overcharged my red top Optima and it burst at the seams.

Oh, and make sure you check that the other wires connected at the positive terminal are still connected. There are 2 or 3 wires tied into the positive battery terminal.

I had similar issues with these lights turning on with no apparent reason. But I also noticed a humming noise coming from the engine compartment; I tracked it back to the ABS actuator module. It turned out to be one of the relays being partially engaged. After hitting it softly, it stopped buzzing and everything went back to normal.
