so few days ago once everything was bolted up and adjusted i took my car for a spin no exhaust system just downpipe real loud , anyway i can hear turbo spool but i don't fel the pull! when i drop off the gas i hear comp surge so there must be boost, i got vac/boost gage hook that up, again hear spool but gage goes into even more vaccuum! wtf/??? checked there is no vaccum leak anywhere i can find and i mean rb20det turbo is 7psi gated so all 7 won't escape. so today i take my oil feed off and its like new inside!no oil ??? i crank over the car without fuel pump fuse and no oil shooting from the feed !(nd the worst part just downpipe so its so loud ) so i am asuming my turbo wasn't getting oil but how would that relte to no boost but spool , and wheels spin freely . i mean motor must of been getting oil otherwise i doubt it would rev to 5 k rpm -6krpm without going to hell. ut well the same goes for turbo without oil it should of been seized but it still spins freely i am so confused and amused please input

do you have your oil lines tapped right?

make sure the line isnt blocked up anywhere. take it off and the T and use some compressed air to blow through it to see if air comes out

as for no boost, did you check for boost leaks?

When assembling a turbo system like this, before you attach the oil line to your turbo you should always crank your car and verify that oil is coming out of the feed line. Its that important.

Do what Structure said, check for leaks or kinks in your fuel supply line. Also make sure the rest of your engine is getting oil also. Did your oil light go on? Is your oil pressure switch still attached? Do you have an oil pressure gauge? Take the oil filler cap off and feel a cam with your finger- is it wet with oil?

Sometimes brand new oil in a brand new engine is hard to see- looks almost clear sometimes. Make sure you take your time and look hard.

Not getting any boost is 99.9999999999% likely one of these two things:

1. Boost leak in IC piping or manifold

2. Exhaust leak in mani/flange before turbo

I can almost guarantee you it is one of those things, so start looking

An engine can go a LITTLE while on low oil pressure, so just because you didnt spin a bearing or ruin your turbo yet doesnt mean that everything is a-ok. Be SURE you have oil before you start the car again.

well my oil light is fine unless its burned out , 2 MY motor has oil inside and i know its getting to the places it supose to go i was on the road bagging itto redline the first night so with bad oil pressure or no oil my hydrolic lifters , main bearingss etc at 6k rpm would of went wild and without oil pressure my chain would of skipped at least a few teth . i have rebuild ka before and once i messed up on oil passeges in timing cover and car won't even rev over 3-4 k rpm(don't ask about that storie ) .egr system is removed so as aic and fuel canister and intake buterflies ,i can't seen to lokate a single vacuum leak i even took my fan off so i can hear the wistle leaks make , sprayed wd 40 around conections too . well so far i am at work once i get off i am going to go and play some more since frustration won't let me sleep some ideas came up

1 i always had oil but becouse oil feed is new it might seen clean inside also i am using synthetic oil so maybe i should crank it over longer not just few small kranks and than it will come up vs normal oil when i blow into the feed air goes in fine so no clog

2 no boost issue (i have meagn boost/vaccum gage i hooked up 2 out of 3 wires and vaccum line 3rd wire says dimmer , i hear some gages req all 3 wires pluged for proper calibration but thats mainly with digital gages )i may not feel the pull becouse my clutch is slipping becouse when i was begging it it did clime up to redline queit fast

on top of it all my friend is there right now and he says that there is oil around the feed fitting (feed fitting to oil feed line )the feed line is clean but on the turbo itself where fitting goes in and usses copper washer for seal there is some sweat so oil must be present.

any other isdeas corrections to my train of ideas

thanks for replies guys

Well, I am not sure what is wrong but I do know that the oil light would do better to not be in the car at all..those things dont come on unless there is pretty much nothing in there at all.
