I have a '95 s14 that I keep *trying* to keep in good shape, I've done a bunch of maintenence recently, and now I broke somehting entirely new. :(

I hopped a curb, twice. Very hard. Now my steering is ****ed and off center adn I think the wheels are riding on edge on the right, which is the side I struck first, then rebounded into the left curb, and it feels like the car has extreme camber. What did I break? I really have zero suspension experience, but I have some mechanical knowledge (just changed my water pump). What am I going to find when I pull the wheels off tommorow? I'm low on funds and dont want to have to pay just for a diagnosis. So what should I look for? What are the parts likely to be damaged in curbing incidents and how can I tell whats bent. I have a digi cam, so I might also be able to post some pics. I'm really hoping fixing this thing again isnt going to cost me more than a hundred bucks. :(

TIA Tim

When I first got my license, I did some crazy stuff.. and smashed into a curb. It messed up a bunch of suspension members in the front and rear left side, and also messed up the steering alignment. The total cost, including the suspension and body work was around 3,000 dollars. It was a real tragedy.

Anyway, take pics, and let some of the online mechanics give you a diagnosis. Or take it to a shop that gives free estimates. It seems like your run-in with the curb wasn't nearly as bad as mine, but expect to pay a little more than a hundred bucks. Sorry to hear about your troubles. :(

your toe is probobly off now too, so unless your gona do an alignment, you will probobly have to take it to an alignment center. you can probobly fix everything else by your self because you do have the mechanical know how.

i did something similar but my car jumped out of a ditch flying about 1 to 2 feet in the air.

now the Steering wheel has a lot of play in it.

What's wrong with my car.
