Hi, I'm new here and new at the Z world.

I really loved the history of the brand and in special the 300zx.

Sorry for my english but I'm from brazil.

Things over here are a little difficult when the subject is motors.

Probably ther is some post like this one, but i couldn't manage to find it out.

The thing is, I've found a 300zx TT here in my city. I take a ride in the car, it runs smooth and it's in pretty good shape.

Since I'm no mechanics expert nor a Z expert I wan't to know which spots, things, details, parts and etc. I should pay a little more atention in order to not buy a "time bomb".

Thank you very much, I hope you guys can help me.

Welcome to Nico! Don't worry about your English, it's better than my Portuguese :)

Check the mileage. If it has more than 60K miles (roughly 96,500 KM), be sure the timing belt service was done. Including the water pump.

Be sure the check engine light isn't on. If it is, find out what the code is with the ECU diagnostics. http://www.ttzd.com/tech/diagnostictech.html

More info in this link here. Just know that the prices he mentions at the end were from 1998, so they're a bit dated.

Good luck!

Welcome!

I think all Z's except USDM use Km rather than Miles.

If the speedometer goes above 160, it's in KPH and Km on the odometer.

if it's a TT, make sure the boost gauge goes past 0 when accelerating.

Welcome to NICO! My name is Mark.

Your English is better than some Americans. That alone deserves an applause.

That could also be a disconnected vac line to the OEM boost sender, circled in red here:

Believe me, if it's a TT and it's not boosting, you'll know :chuckle:
