When i hooked up my amp again, after some work behind the head unit, i forgot to hook up the rca leads to the head unit. Let it go that way for several hours running, didnt think much of it. I hooked them back up today, no noise from the subs, no lights on my amp. Whappend?ast

You migh have blown some fuses, check the amps fuse, and the inline fuse on the power wire running from your battery. You can pick than up at Best Buy for around $6 for 2 fuses. The amp ones (the little square ones you can get anywhere Walmart, Pepboys, etc), also check your ground, it might have came loose, while your at it check all the wires.

there any risk that i messed up the amp itself? all of the wires are connected, i havent checked em with a test light yet, i have the feeling that i blew the fuse on the remote wire (1/2 amp? Whazzup wid dat?!)ast

Okay, no big deal, a splice in the remote wire fell apart, teaches me to not solder everything.ast

Hehe, I did that once. I couldn't figure out why my subs or amp were not running at all so I redid the wiring all over again without even thinking of the fuse :( Needless to say I felt like an idiot after I figured it out :oface .

this one i was lucky with, the splice was made in underneath the console, normally i'd have to pull the console to fix it, but when i put the console back on the remote wire and a couple others came out and were in between it and the seat...I also figured out why my cd changer wasnt working, ground came off...speaking of which, any ideas how to eliminate the high pitched whine from my cd changer? It uses an rf modulator, the sound is not dependant on engine noise, it gets louder as the volume goes up.ast
