I want to get new speakers for my car and am looking to spend about $200, Im just looking for the cleanest sound with out any amps and with out any extensive work to fit it in my 240sx. Id prefer not to have to make any kind of brakets or new holes but if it ment much better sound I guess i'd be willing. Im not looking for much, just better then the 12 year old stock system.

Does your current (assuming stock) system use "active" speakers? If so, you might find it challenging to replace the speakers for $200, as the factory HU (active speaker set-up) has no wattage/power ouput.

If your HU has wattage/power output, then a good set of 6.5" front speakers (even with home made adapters) would be better than nearly any 4x6's you could get.

Just one guys opinion .

With your sony, it would be a great idea to upgrade your front speakers to 6.5s like Rex said.

If you're aren't going to add an amp, I'd say look for some Pioneer or Pioneer Premier, they majke some good 2 or 3 way's that shold give you full range on a budget.

There are a few other and some will say go cheap, but I disagree .

my favorite budget speaker line is the Boston Acoustics Rally line. Very reasonable and sounds great!

i agree... a friend of mine had some rally's and they were amazing for the price. get em on ebay... plus boston acoustics just came out with all new lines of speakers and changed things up a bit, so the older rally's can be had even cheaper no thn before. look on ebay. it is really easy to mount 6 1/2 or 5 1/4 in the front on s13 style 240's... you just have to cut the right size hole in some plexi glass or something comparable, but it's a good idea to cover them up in back somehow to protect from water and such. anyway here's a link to some 5 1/4 and i'm sure you can find the 6 1/2 or any other size if needed...http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...=WDVW

you don't have to have an external amp for these or any speakers really, but a good amplifier will make them sound better and louder and all that... so let's just say you'll have room to upgrade later if you want to, and if not they will still sound good.

Try these, they are a bit pricy, but they are top quality and should work fine without an Amplifier:http://www.woofersetc.com/prod...=3426

those sound pretty clean too... the rally's are much better, but those can be had a lot cheaper on ebay.

I've always used pioneer, boston accoustics, and infinity. All very good companies imo.
