Hey guys, so it's been a while but I have decided to consult some fellow nico members with a problem I've been having. So ever since I bought my 97 s14, the stock e-fan has never worked, now this wouldn't be too much a problem exept for the fact that my car doesn't have a clutch fan installed.
Now before you say anything, I would like to point out that I am not going to rely solely upon the stock e-fan to cool the motor but I would like to use the 12 volt output from the stock e-fan plug to operate a relay which will control a set of aftermarket flexolite fans. Basically, I don't want to spend money on an aftermarket fan controller if my car already has one built in.
So my question is, what controlls the stock e-fan and what would cause it not to work? (other than fuse/relay in the engine bay)
Just for some added info, when I bought the car, the person before me had pulled out the fan relay and had plugged two wires in the relay socket which lead to a switch in the cabin. This essentially bypassed the relay so when you turned the switch on the fan comes on. I just can't get the relay to turn on automatically.
Thanks in advance for your help guys
