As far as black goes, which is better? Glossy or flat? These rims were $450 for the set, so i have some people trying to tell me that they're too nice to do that to. Although IMO, having a flat black would be easy as hell to touch-up if it were to get nicked. The dark bronze was my first choice. It's what i wanted on my white car before it got killed. I think it will work well with red and it will be slightly different. As you though, i could care less what other people think about 'em. All that makes me happy is that they're 16's and they're light.SR_Smith wrote:What color are your tires? There's my answer.Always been a fan of blacked out tires/wheels because I don't need anybody's attention and I don't care what others think about it.I want them light, perfectly round, easy to clean.[/Maybe a deep bronze like you posted. They seem to work on all cars.
Sweet! I was hoping you would post in this thread and give me your opinion. I'll try to give you a pic today.Axel Grungy wrote:paint them the duplicolor dark bronze i think it will look perfect. bronze on red looks great. i could maybe photoshop you something if you gimme a good side shot
That's an impressive masking job you did on the stock alloys, although the SSR's really don't have a definable edge that i could do that, and i'd rather paint them all the way.Graphfixz wrote:here are a few pics I tried to design for my black 240 and you are right. Black rims don't look good ... IMHO
first the original....
Not an option---it was hard as hell finding these rims, and they're all perfectly round (for used rims that's a major plus). Plus they were a good deal.Ghost_silvia wrote:I have the falken hanabi's an I personally don't like the color unless it's really bright outside to make the rim shine. Maybe you can get different rims if that's an option. Try pandagarage.com
I'm going to a auto paint store today so hopefully they have some swatches for me to look at. I don't know if I want such a bright shade. I really like the shade on your car!kuramaya wrote:I ssy Bronze like the WRX wheels, not the bronze like mine..a brighter shade would be good with red...if not that then a lighter gunmetal shade
Geesh, you should hear people when I start talking about having the centers on my wheels painted/powdercoated then. Tell them to quite their whining. Especially if you're having it done professionaly.skydragoness wrote:These rims were $450 for the set, so i have some people trying to tell me that they're too nice to do that to.
I agree, the bronze i wanted is closer to black, or more like black with a 'bronze sheen'. We'll see how it turns out, i'll do some test sprays on my bf's z32 clip I only bought two cans anyhow, so i can always return one of them.yessir240 wrote:I personally think You should go with a darker color the Light bronze in that photo shop doesnt look right to me.... I just painted mine Duplicolor Gunmetal ......
