I want to buy some coilovers soon and i want pretty good ones but i dont want to spend $1500 on them, Just imagine it as a track car cause i rarely drive it around town so i dont mind a rough ride on the streets. I want something that is very adjustable and worth the money and that is very stiff, What are some good coilovers that cost under $1000?

I have Ksports. Haven't ever driven on them because I am still building, but I can tell you that they are very nicely made. ANd infinately adjustble ride height because you can thread the shock down into the housing or adjust the spring perch. I have 19" wheels and still have mine lowered with 2" of tuck and 4 " of ground clearance. This with only reducing travel (lowering spring perch) by 1 1/2 ". I bought the ones for an S14 and modified them to fit my S13. I can tell you that if I stand on the radiator support and bounce, the car barely moves. Like only 1/2". And I weigh 220.

The only thing I don't like about them is when you adjust the dampers, they don't click, so you can't tell just how much you adjusted them. They are supposed to be 32 (?) way adjustable, but how can you tell without clicks?

I am actually really happy with my Endura-Techs.

I've had 3 sets of c/o's, and honestly, none of them were "bad". Some are better made than others, but tires and alignment go a LONG way.

Don't throw expensive coilovers on a wack suspension setup with lame tires and weird wheels and expect miracles.

Ive been driving around with the K-Sport Drift series coilovers for two weeks now and they have been great. I wont call them superior to my old tein basics which were a great improvement from the tein s springs i had on there before, but they are definitely not inferior in quality or ride. K-sport drift 240sx has been getting trophy wins this year proving this. I spun my buddies coupe with megans around a couple times before installing the k- sportss on my hatch and these drfit specs are definitely, ABSOLUTELY superior coilovers. Unless im being sponsored there is no way i would blow 1800.00 on coilovers.

Knock it off! You've been warned more than a few times. You need to start making friends instead of enemies.

Stance = Ksport = D2 = Megan as far as I've seen. For the most part the JDM shocks are junk, although my own personal experience is limited to JIC, Greddy, Cusco, Apexi, and Tein. They aren't even on par with low end Koni shocks.

Brady Dohrmann use Ksport Circuit Pro Damper in time attack 240sx. He is place in top 5 in most of Redline Time Attack series. So not all ksport are garage.

Grant your JIC is good, ours isnt, theres a big difference with JIC USA, so unless you start sending coilovers along with wheels what you said wont hold up

More snipes at people's financial investments from a guy who doesn't practice what he preaches.

Let's get Dohrmann in here (a REAL track guy) to educate people instead of Mr. JDM.

Incidentally, "I drove XXX car with XXX coilovers" doesn't mean jack.

I drove a kouki S14 with Zeals and it handled horribly. It was set up by someone more concerned with looks than handling.

I've also driven a low-budget Time Attack S13 on Megans that was super-impressive. Setup is key.

its the truth man

Id sell them if people would pay for itbut noone wants to pay 1400 for a set of JICs od HKS or Kei Office

but however, a ****ty coilover with a good setup, will still handle horribly

PS i have silkroads and JICs on my cars

Dyno plots. Experience. Etc. I probably wouldn't know what I'm talking about had I not driven a bunch of cars with real shocks, or studied it in theory for a few years.

Quote »therea re distinct differences between the ones you listedwell not so much from D2 to megan, but among the rest there is [/quote]You can SEE a distinct similarity in the way D2, KSport, Megan, and Stance are valved. As for the JDM shocks, I never claimed they were similar. I simply stated they weren't up to par. The ones I've personally had experience with were mediocre at best, but I've only been racing for the past 6 years or so (and only have a few regional, divisional, and a canadian national titles). Take it from someone with a lot more experience:

Well i can get the ksports for 695 shipped with whatever spring rates i want im gonna do 10/8 but im wondering if running a linear coilover is not worth it since the ksports are linear instead of progressive like alot of more expensive brands, i dont know if i will notice a difference or not but i think it will definitly be worth a shot. Im pretty sure the linear spring ratio is 2:1 im not sure though because people at ksport didnt even know lol. I have never heard of powered by max and all the sudden im hearing about that brand everywhere now. I was thinking of getting tein basics with 10/8 and then getting camber plates for them and leaving it at that because the basics im pretture sure are progressive.

Oh OK cause the GR+ are a few hundred more than the Megan's from what I've seen, but I believe I'm going with the GR+'s if that matters at all
