Just wondering what you guys with RBs are using for clutches. From what I've seen, the choices are stock, RPS, ACT, JWT, clutchmasters, centerforce, or SPEC. I've gone through many clutches in my Civic. The biggest problem I've had is the springs breaking out of the hub. I've broken 3 stock disks and a Clutchmasters that way. It seems the hubs aren't strong enough to take the higher friction clutch material. I've also had two ACT 6-pucks that were a little hard to drive and ate the flywheel. I also had a centerforce that just wore out too fast on the organic side.

So that eliminates stock, clutchmasters and centerforce. I'm leaning away from RPS and JWT because they are organic and I want something that will take alot of abuse and last. So I've pretty much narrowed it down to a SPEC stage 2, 3, or 4, or an ACT 4 or 6 puck. The SPEC seems to be popular with sr20det's. Just wanted to see what was being used and get second opinions before I bought one.

What clutch has a lot to do with how you drive the car and its intended use.. What your's?????????????? Spring going bad are ysually a sign of alot of accel/decell driving and using the gears to slow the car..??????????????????

My car is 95% street, I'm just really hard on it. The springs pop out because the metal in the hub fatigues and breaks. I've seen a few other people that have had this problem, especially with clutchmasters. That's why I'm hesitant to buy a sprung-hub clutch. So I'm probably gonna try the SPEC stage 3 because I've heard good things, or the ACT 6-puck because I know it will last, it's just a little annoying to drive sometimes.

Then it will not matter what clutch you use most all the companies use the same hub/centers from the same manufactor...
