Looking to re-order a clutch. i ordered act 6 puck unsprung, but was told it will ruin my transmission. im stock now, perhaps turbo next year. if i go 6 puck sprung will it be a pain in the *** to drive daily, or how about a street setup. SPL parts doesnt have the whole kit for there prices so anyone know a different brand?

Stick with a normal disc. The ACT HD is fine. Use the extreme pressure plate if you think you need more. But you won't. Trust me. You won't be making 400HP. Neither will I. So lets both be realistic and buy what is right, not just what we think might be hot stuff.Other brands with normal discs that promise the same HP/torque handling are fine also, I am just partial to ACT.

What do you think of the RPS clutch, the street one for $288. Are they complete kits? http://www.turboclutch.com/sport_nissa.html

RPS has a fine reputation and in my opinion build a superior clutch. The problem is that the choices for the 240SX are kinda limited. They make big jumps from one level to the next, making it hard to find a happy medium. The one you see is pretty close to stock. The next step up uses a much heavier pressure plate pre-load. It will make the pedal much heavier, though the engagement will still be smooth. Thats not necessarily a bad thing as long as you like the heavy clutch. We are mostly just trying to avoid the rude nature of a puck-style disc. You might actually be able to have them custom make a clutch set to a +%25 to +%35 which would reduce pedal effort while giving plenty of clamping power. Their site does mention that they can do this, it just doesn't mention the cost. It is difficult to tell whether or not the kit comes complete with the TO bearing and pilot bushing. I guess you're going to have to call to find out.ACT does make a full kit, but their prices are a tad more also. ACT also has a pair right in the range that I think both you and I are looking for. Its just a cost issue.

u have to know what ur future goals are with the car. i personally run the ACT street kit. its good for 300 and its extremely streetable thru traffic and all that mess. Bites like a mofo when i need it but like i said streetable. The six puck really isnt that bad either. Its the four puck which isnt streetable unless ur trying to workout ur legs or if u live in traffic..............

I agree, daiken/exedy is top notch stuff for the price.

Pucked clutches are horrible, for the best upgrade look into an os giken multiple plate unit. Ive seen this setup on a ka, with os giken flywheel/clutch from an rb.

Yeah I know right now I'm dealing with it.....Installed my Fidanza flywheel and compition 6 puck. I've never had so much slippage on such a new clutch. I know I need to break it in a bit but it is getting rediculous.........Defenitely feel the degredation loss from the fly wheel, but I am hating the slipage right now....I also need to instal a new clutch master cylinder this weekend what a biotch!!!!!!!!!!!

I would go with ACT because in my opinion they are the best clutches out there and well worth the extra $$$$!

I got a south bend rally series clutch for $170 shipped, was told there was no break in, but I drove it around for about 150 miles, then proceeded to beat the piss out of it at a drift event. grips perfectly still. my friend put one in his girlfriend's 600hp supra, and man can it chirp a mean 3rd
