What cars compete with the EX?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

You see a lot of Q5, RDX, LR2, Volvo, Ford Edge, etc... comparisons...
I never see the EX compared to anything in the auto mags.

I know it is unique, but what do you think is competition for our EX35? Audi A3? Mazda C5? VW GTI???

What about the BMW X1?

Range Rover Evoque is on my short list as is the Lincoln MKX (good ol USA) and BMW X1.
Also lets not forget other "close" competition like the Caddy SRX and the Audi Q3 which should be on the way here as its been on sale in Europe for a year or so now.

I would agree with this. I have driven all except the MB.
I was thinking of a Audi Q5 but very $$$$$
Swedish Have Europen delivery which I have done in the past and a nice discount plus air fare, Swedish have the best seats.
I had a BWM 530xi and drove the X3 nice but very over priced. BMW alcarte
Went with new 2011EX35 and love it.

When I was on the market April-June this year, before settling on the EX I also drove an Audi Q5, Lexus RX350, BMW X3 (and checked out, but could not drive, the X1), Infinit FX, and the Volvo XC60. I also looked into, but not terribly seriously, the Nissan Rogue, VW Touareg (awful name!), Mercedes GLK.

Had I not gotten the EX, I would have gotten the Q5, which was slightly more functional than the EX but not as good a single driver experience.

I have had several GLKs as service loaners they were nice, not quite as responsive, but after paying MB maintenance & repairs no more for me.
