Can someone tell me what cars come with T3 and which are best suited for a 1.8L(2.0L) engines?

I know the 84-86 300ZX have T3, and some Mustang SVO (what year?) Have T3 too. What other cars have T3s? Which turbo can support 15-20psi of boost? (If any at all)

Please list the year and model of the car. If possible, the turbo A/R and trim too.

Thanks. :help :ylsuper

I wouldnt bother with a T3 honestly. After you change the flange, lines, piping, etc. for the turbo you'll end up with the same performance as a FP Big 28 turbo w/ more lag.

Get the FP Big28 turbo and you'll be happy! It bolts right up to the manifold.

Is the BigT28 as big as a T3? I'm asking this cause junk yard T3's are really cheap, I just want to see if there are any newer cars that have T3's. Thanks for the input.

BTW are you the guy who put a LT1 into a 240? Nice car.

yeah that pretty much sums it up. saab 88 and up had water and oil cooled T3's, most volvo models that were turbo'd have T3's. thunderbird turbo coupes, merkurs, SVO stangs, NIssan 300ZX's(only 84 to 86 tho, 87 and 88 had T25, YUCK.) Datsun 280ZX turbos. I am sure what ever GM turbo'd had T3's in them as well. some grand prix 3.1 turbos, quad 4 turbos. the T3 was the workhorse of the turbo world, trhats for sure.

One more question, does all Volvo have T3's? Or is it only the high-pressure models? Thanks.

The Buick Grand National between 1986-87 (and probably the 1984-85 cars too) came with a Garrett T3/T4 hybrid stock. You should be able to find them regularly. GN guys sell them all the time after they upgrade. The turbo is reasonably efficient up to just over 20psi; around 21-23psi. However, more than a few GN guys have run them well past this on race gas. Pretty good turbo especially on a stock car. As others have mentioned there are many factory turbo cars that came with T3 turbos: Z31 300ZX's, Ford Turbocoupe's, SVO Mustang, GM turbo cars, etc....~Brendan
