What car to buy?

Ok guys i dont know how many of you guys know of me, or know what happend. Pretty much to make a long story short i had an s14, with sr, but it is gone. Due to the stupidity of another human. Any ways i am curious to see your guys idea's on what kinda car to buy. Im open to ideas. I have up to 14-15 k to spend. So i cant buy a brand new car, but i can still get something pretty nice. Some things i have been considering... Now keep in mind i loved my 240. My favorite car by far, and if i could get my car back i would in a heart beat, but i had alot of money into my car, and couldn't build the same car for what i got.s14Cons: insurance might go way up, and i cant get near the same amount of mods on a new car, so im afraid i might be disapointed.s13Cons. Not really a con, but im used to the s14, so its hard for me to buy the same car but older. if i did get an s13, for cheap, i could make it pretty carzy with the money i have.....SolaraPro... More luxurious, TRD Supercharger... Mmmmm, 273 hp with just the supercharger at the crank.. Would be fun. fwd sucks, but no need for a winter beater. Newer car, less problems.... Luxury would be nice. Heated leather seats...

ne ways... next...Con- Impossible to find in stick. I will be traveling probably pretty far to aquire one of these..Gtp. I know American is the first problem.... Pontiac is even a bigger problem.. They look pretty sharp though.. And some simple mods you can have a 13 second car. Nice aftermarket support for them.Those are what i have though of so far. I also considered an suv for a minute, but it would kill me in gas, so i decided just to get a car. So shoot all your ideas at me. Any of you guys with a dope ride for sale send me some info. Everytime i see a 97-98 240 with sr, i almost buy it... so tempting. Thanks guys. Chris

Yeah, you better not have any cons for the S13

You're right, you could build a killer S13 with that cash.

I like MR2s. Are the used WRXs down to 15,000 yet? G20. Integra. Just a few to think about.

get an se-r and turbo charge it. it already has an sr20 motor in it:) and stock LSD.

whatever you do, DO NOT buy the pontiac, possibly one of the worst vehicles ive driven, it was a 1996 Prix (the new ones might be ok but you only have 14K).

Do another 240sx I know you dont want to but It will be like getting a part of the old car back I know did have a bad *** 240 it was stock but loved it and it is gone but now with the new one i am even farther along then i was So find a s14 and get some boost cuz you can always bulid it faster and now you all ready know wher to go to get it all done so no more reading to read up on a new car cuz that takes hours but all and all its your money thats what i would do you i got an s14 you can bulid and ill drive it :p

uhm anyways for the car I really think you should get a s13 and make it completely bada$$. Man just thinking of all the things I could do with like 13 grand sends shivers down my spine. You wouldnt miss your S14 at all, I guarantee.

If i get an s13, i want an s15 front end... Wow, they look so dope, and the 180sx type x tails. if i got a gtp it would be a newer one. It would be like 99-01, and you can easily get those with 40 k on them for like 11-12..... Nils car... MMMM i want it. keep the ideas comign guys. Thanks for all the help. peace

I have a Pontiac Grand Prix GT. It is not a bad car by any means. The GTP would be quicker, but essentially the same car. The steering is much slower than a 240 and you would have torque steer with the FWD. Very comfortable with plenty of room for passengers and cargo.

The s13 would be killer and you would not miss your s14, I promise.

You could also get a VERY nice Q45 for that kind of cash. And probably have some left over depending on what year you bought. Q's are awesome.

sorry about last post was in big hurry. Was on lunch brake and was late. But you could get all kinds of cars from old vettes to alot of F bodys with LT1 or maybe a nice down on a S2000 or a Stang hell with 14k you could get alot and no s15 on hachback well IMO if you wait a s13 get a hach and do sil80 then a black top swap with big turbo upgrade good for 350 to the wheels stick with RWD and 5 speeds you know you want to. old Rx7,DSMs,and at frist you wher saing tucks right get a used lighting. Youll find something youll love you did last time. BTW would you email me some pics of your car wreck and not to my email if you want I put nice cars up on this website i made one day after being bored for cars people love and now RIP.

Id get a 10k car and 3-4k sprucing it up. Rather than a 2-3k car and spending 12k on it.

Amen to that...the next car I buy will be in darn near turnkey condition...rebuilding them is a very stressful experience.

Repo, whats wrong with solara. There is someone local that has one with the trd superchrager, and it is pretty damn quick. I think they look pretty nice, also.

I like lightnings alot, but insurance is really high. Same with f body's and mustangs. I actually kinda like mustangs, in a wierd way, but dont wanna pay alot for insurance. Also i could buy like a 20 k car, but i really dont want a car payment. Id rather buy a real dope car for 14-15, or a car for like 5-10 that i could dump money into.

Seriously though man a Lexus sc300 can be had for 10k in nice condition. Finding one in a 5 speed might be a bit of a challenge though.

nothing's wrong with a solara, definitely not a common tuner car, so there's no bandwagon, my one beef with it is....comes across to me as a girly car. maybe cuz the first person that i met who owned a solara was a girl, and solara is something i would name a girl if i was smoking some of that trippy grass.

I think you need a 4 door sports car. I'd say Catera because there's probably all kinds of overseas support, but no manual was offered over here...

there's always something like a Cressida(has the supra powerplant:D) or a nice Q or a Lexus.

I wouldn't know what to get with 14k either:)

solara looks like a S15 from the back a little... so maybe do a S15 front end swap and sell it for like $24812471984 to a ricer and tell him that its a LHD S15

how much is the new tiburon. one of my buddies has one and its really nice, if i didnt have a 240, the tiburon would be on my list. with 10 year 100,000 mile garuntee you cant go wrong...

edit: i just checked a 2003 tiburon for 15k classifieds would be alot less

i have a friend with a super camry and it hauls AZZ. very quick even with 19 bbs's. another friend of mine has a 4 runner with the trd supercharger and 20's and it beats my 240. the solaro wouldnt bet that bad but i would try and get the 5 speed. you could really close on a new maxda 6 and those are tight aswell

I'm suprised no one mentioned 90-95 300zx turbo, I'd be happer then hell with even a nonturbI guess its just all the aftermarkit support that appeals to me
