Was looking at finally buying a new car alarm for my car to replace the factory key less entry system my car came with and was wondering what car alarm any one on here may be using or what systems are recommended.

I know this doesn't necessarily qualify to be posted in the RB motor section but I wanted the opinions of this smaller more unique nico population.

I have a Viper 600 from a couple years back.Doesn't have the 2 way transmitter or screen.

But I'm gonna hook up a couple kill switches and gotta pick up a set of air horns. All of these alarms have the same siren, so when mine goes off, everyone's gonna know and I'll be able to tell its mine.

I have a fake viper, but the flashing light is all that works right now, had to disable it partly when I bought the car. I have a new remote and need to rewire it for remote start. It is a touch-only type that beeps if you rock the car a little and goes off if you pick up a handle or disrupt the level sensor too much. I would much prefer a lo-jack and sticker, or just a lo-jack sticker, that might just make it more secure than this! Besides if somebody wants my car they have to be able to double clutch to leave with it, got two bad syncros you can't slam through right now.

Has any RB owner done the "blow-jack" mod? i.e. Wiring in a GPS enabled phone to track the car if stolen?

I used a Spartan 3E made by xilinx an I made my own. It took a few hours once I had all the pieces I needed.

You would want more info on "blow jack" ya ****! LOL jk <can't use the word h0-m0? OK then, fart-knocker)

There is a detailed writeup thread on zilvia but you basically buy a GPS enabled, pay-by-the-minute phone from Target or Best Buy, whatever. Wire a phone charger into a constant power wire to keep the phone on at all times. Then, hide the phone somewhere in the car. Other GPS enabled phones can see where the phone/car is at all times, you just have to pay $5-10 more on your normal monthly phone bill. This is how I remember it anyways.

I think it would be pretty comical to wire it into your wife's/gf's car if you suspect that she's cheating on you LOL. Probably illegal, but hilarious nonetheless. We could call it Wife Blows Jack.
