I am in the market for a used truck. Probably be buying this spring sometime. I really just want a reliable work truck, but I don't want some piece of junk sitting next to my G in the garage. I have been looking at used Ram's, Dakota's, F150's and the likes.

What can you guys tell me about the Nissan? Reliability, pros and cons compared to other makes, size, do they have a 4x4? Any info you can get me will be appreciated. My price range is probably no higher than $6,000. Any suggestions?

Some more info. I live in Indy and would prefer a 4x4 for the winter so that my G can stay clean and warm in garage. I don't want to have to carry an extra 500 pounds of sand in the back like I did with my old Ranger when driving in the snow.

Thanks for your help.

Ryan

Stay away from used Dodge's... Nothing but trouble.

I think for that price rage you'll be looking at a Hardbody. I had a 95 XE that was very reliable. The only problem I had was the manifold stud sheard off. When I traded it in for my xterra, it had 118K on it and still was running like a top.

I just found a 95 Nissan King Cab SE, V6 and 4wd with 115,000 miles for 6K. Does that seem like a fairly reasonable price?

I have just started searching and I am not going to be buying anything until the spring, just trying to get an idea of what is out there.

A D-21 is what your lookin at. its a good truck I would stay away from automatics on those. as far as deciding between import or american. the quality of imports is far superior to that of american vehicles. at ford quality is NOT job one. I dont care what they say.

That's a little below Kelly Blue Book Value. If that's the asking price, you could talk them down a couple of hundred dollars and have yourself a good buy on a nice truck.
