Ok..., what can you do with a ka? I have about 3 weeks before my vert goes off the road. Me and three of my friends rented a garage to keep our cars in and also do what we need to do over the winter. I am doing alot of interior work and also body work and paint. But i'm not sure what I can do for perfomance. There is a cold air kit on it. 3 inch stainless exhaust. brand new lowering springs, Kyb GR-2 struts, shocks control arms, ect.... This is the first non American car i ever owned. I was a Ford guy. My last car was a 1990 Ford T-bird SC. 35th anniversary. Hence my user name thrty5thsc. That car was FAST. I paid 2500.00 for the car and put 20,000.00 into it only to have it burn up on me! So what can I do to this car that I have come to love in the three months that I have owned it. My friend that i bought it from says SR20DET, but I don't want to do all that swap stuff. Been there done that. Can I make it fast without a swap? I have no clue about Nissan or imports at all. So, what can I do with a KA?

If you thought a boosted 'bird was fast, it won't take much to impress you...

There's one example of what can be done with a KA.

I'll need a little time to read all that. I have been drinking tonight. And that boosted bird was not stock at all. 12 seconds for a 2:73-1 4,000 lbs. car is pretty good.

Good deal.

It'll be a lot easier to make this one fast.

the best thing to do is spend a LOT of time reading and researching. since you wrench all ready, you shouldn't have too many newb-ish questions. but feel free to ask because we're very helpful and friendly in the vert forum.

here's a couple links to the ka-forums on nico:

to what Dexter said.

Normally I'd go ahead and move this thread to that forum so that you could get better info. But since you clearly are no novice, and some of the guys in the 'vert forum are extremely proficient in their knowledge of the KA engine (Dexter for example). So we'll leave this thread here.

Just keep in mind that if you don't get the answers you are looking for in this thread, you might want to create a new thread in the KA or KA-T forums that Dexter linked for you.
