heres the deal.my nephew has a s15 n/a and wanted more power so i sold him a vh45,z32 box, loom and all that jazz. but the fit is horrible in a rhd and the vh sux. because of his insurence he cant have a turbo or n/a over 3.4l(only found out today). so i suggested my old vg30de with some mods.dont know what but it pulls really well with 50hp nos.(easily pulled my vh45 z32) or a built vg34e with reground cams ported and whatever. i also have a set of mad ported and camed vg30det heads that we can skimm and put on the vg30de.he has all the other parts to make a hot setup like hks ecu, exedy twin plate, hks suspension, tomie locker, brembos. so my question is vg30de with det heads ported,cams,headers+50hp nos or vg34 with the same mods? and if he blows something up the vg's are cheap as dirt i could'nt even give mine away.cheers

If the DE with nitrous will outrun a VH Z then I'd say it will probably do better than the VG33/34. Supposedly a VG34 setup with mild head work and cams is good for 250 hp. If you got some custom pistons for higher compression then it would probably come somewhat close... but I'm not positive.

SOHC VG's are really best with boost, that's what they were really designed for.

hi,the reason i asked about the vg34 is theres so much parts here i thought it be worth a try.he has decided to do the vg30de with the heads and cams of my vg30dett(those are vg30det heads). yeah the motor has good power with 50hp nos it did 13.02sec in a 2+2 z32 (M/T et streets).does a vg30e front sump fit on a vg30de? cheers

I think the oil pan will bolt up, however the DE(TT) pumps are a bit "thicker" so I think it will move the pickup tube forward, which may or may not allow it to work.
