i was on my way to get the car dyno tune and i discovered a big problem. the car started boggin as if it was boost leak and then the car starts to idle really low and ends up dying. Been running this car for weeks untuned and not pushing pass 3.5krpm with no problem. until i started leaving for dyno tune and all of a sudden this happened. after letting it cool off i check my boost gauge and drove it without any problem and it ran fine as if nothing happen ANd until i ran it for a couple min then the same thing happened again. boggs at certain rpm and then it dies. i used the scanner on it and it threw out code 45( Injector fuel leak) and EGR which is normal.

i checked for boost leak and i cant seem to find any leaks. also checked for vacuum leaks and the vac gauge reads 19-20. weird because the car idles fine after it cools down and boost fine.

what can it be?

Check the spark plugs? What kind you have in her? Got an aftermarket FPR? Check the vaccum line to it whether stock or aftermarket...?

spark plugs are NGK irdium plugs and stock FPR.vaccum lines stock?

i was doing some research on it and some guy had the same problem

someguy said it could be his crankshaft sensor, because it will over heat when it reaches it normal temp. so when its gets hot the crankshaft will send wrong info to the computer so the timing is thrown off

how long will that thing take to replace?and if i set my timing back to 20 will it stop the over heating?

Your car is overheating? Might be a blown HG...CAS is inside the distributor on s13 so oyu need a new distributor. Run your ecu for codes see what comes up.

my car isnt overheating. it runs fine on its normal temp.

but then im thinking the crankshaft sensor is going out. correct?

my timing is set on 15 and im thinking the crankshaft sensor is over heating cause it sends wrong info to my comp and then it causes the timing to be thrown off. can that be it?

so if i was to set the timing back to 20 will the crankshaft sensor stop over heating?

because before i set the timing it was on stock timing and it ran fine without over heating

the ecu codes came out to be the: injector fuel leak, MAF, Idle switch (throttle valve switch) signal circuit open, and EGR but then that egr code is gone since i block it off.

i got it tested at the shop

on the injector leak i smell or see no gas leak on the fuel railand the maf i know is ok because i never had any problem with itbut then then idle switch i woulndt know

Im really curious as to whats making the ecu throw a code for leaky injector. I mean what kind of information are the obd1 sensors is giving the ecu that would possibly let it know that the injectors are leaking, pretty wild imo. Maybe an excessive rich condition across the board for your narrowband o2 sensor? Idk, just a stab in the dark.

I would try to follow that lead first. You should take your fuel rail off, prime your fuel pump with a piece of paper towel or whatever underneath your rail and see if you get any drips when you run your fuel pump a few times.

i think its my coolant temp. sensor

i kept it plug in and then drove til it gets hot and when its about to die i unplug it and drove it. and it didnt really stall asmuch as it did when it was plug in.

so now im gonna replace the sensor and see if it still does that

Correct me if i'm wrong, but for "injector leak" it means it's leaking into the cylinder, not out the fuel rail, right?

Most of the time it will leak into the cylinder. You have to take out the few screws that hold down the actual fuel rail. Pull the rail off and the tips of the injectors will be exposed. Turn the key to the ON position so the fuel pump primes. Check for drips/leaks.
