What can I take from a 300zx?

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

I'm trying to build a pretty decent drifting machine out of my '95 S14. But I figure if I can get some more power outta the KA by using stock parts out of higher performing cars I would save a few pennies. For example I already have plans of doing a brake upgrade using the brakes from a fairlady Z32. I also heard somewhere the Z32 lsd and fuel pump would give you better power and acceleration. If someone could correct me if I'm wrong about these things and/or provide any info on other parts I can obtain from other vehicles to increase performance it would be greatly appreciated

Thanks 4 all the help y'all have already given me Riley

MAFS.Right next to airbox/conereads the amount of airflow Mass Air Flow Sensor. If you got a bunch of z32 up there grab them and sell them to us.

I'm not getting it. For one I thought Z32 measured air flow indirectly using MAP sensors. number 2 is that how would I get better performance by switching mass air-flow sensors?

Maf won't give you better performance but you'll need if you up the horsepower.Brakes help you stop better.LSD more traction. If you can rig up their headlight less air resistance.

So I take it the Z32 mafs is more sensitive and will give a more accurate reading to the ECU on how much air is entering the engine giving a better air/fuel ratio which is a good thing in all cases. the one you bought for $100, where'd u get it? I think I'm gonna hit up a pick and pull or better yet Ebay and see their prices

You can also replace your stock fuel filter with a much larger and better flowing 300zx fuel filter

People use the z32 fuel filter because it is cheaper, not because of any performance gains you get from it. It's just not that easy (or cheap) lol.

Now I, wild and crazy as I am, am the first person to pull off the z32 into s13 cigarette lighter conversion.

Oh and by the way, I hate you Florida240sx. Clean 'vert, KA-T, and VG30DETT...share the friggin' wealth .

Uhm. Brakes and differentials aren't going to increase your horsepower any. In fact, the increased resistance on the driveline will probably decrease your whp a little. Neither is a different fuel filter (unless yours is broken), and the fuel pump will decrease your power, because you'll run rich with it installed.

For the Z32 MAF you will need A fuel controller You know you can use parts also from the Skylines and it is the same price.

I'd have to say the motor! it will fit and its better than the RB because it doesnt put as much weight forward of the axle

i had a friend that had way too much money and after he got tired of his sr20det he was going to put in an rb but decided to be different and put in the 300 motor. it fit tight on the sides, and he never did get the a/c to work but it ran like a demon

maybe they have changed the motor mounts i dont know but the 240 is saw had an rb26 in it and it sat pretty far forward maybe 6 inches from the radiator, could have been a bad swap. still this thread is about what he could take from a 300zx so i put my two cents in. personally i believe in building motors the factory put in them, not swapping.
