A car is only worth what someone will pay for it, why public black/yellow/red books are pretty meaningless.

What you owe is immaterial to the selling price. As used cars lose 15-25% when driven off the lot.

Custom and modified cars [exhaust, intake, etc] are more difficult to sell, abused and stressed cars make it worse.

Each city has a different price, not to mention mileage, color, and condition.Dealers are tied into a National Auction network and get daily updates of selling prices.

thanks for the reply.

Yeah I know its a little harder to buy a modified car, but my mods don't void the warranty and really only add to the car's performance in a good way.

I tried listing for 27500 and still no takers..the dealer will over 26000, but wow that's a lot to lose. I'm trying to save for the G 2008 model and I can't wait.

Why not just wait until summer...you'll find more buyers interested in a rear-wheel drive sports car in weather that complements the style of the car. Personally, I'm not holding my breath for the 08. Keeping my baby unless they provide options for more HP (at least 400). It also begs the question, what will you drive until 08?

good question...well I live in D.C. so the metro is fast and I can suck it up for 4-6 months I guess. the 08 pics look sick and I am going to mod it out for dual superchargers and maybe send it off to VRT in florida

I would definitley wait until summer to try and sell...or at least wait until you actually see the 08'

Mods on cars make most people nervous as the assume the seller has driven the car hard. IMO

If you're listing on autotrader, just buy the runs till it sells version.

Keep at it. Perhaps just list for what you owe if you're looking just to get rid of it. Don't simply lower the price just because it won't sell. You're probably also at a price point where others will consider a new car at that price instead. There are willing buyers out there, but you have to be patient. I was around that price point when I sold my G last year. I had a lot of people who were originally looking at G35s without the Nav and wanted me to let it go for the without the nav price. I actually ended up finding someone who wanted all the options and was looking for a very clean car. He didn't even ask me to lower the price and he was calling me everyday to make sure it didn't sell. It was pretty funny to me considering it was up for sale for nearly 6 months.

In your case, you're waiting for the 08 model, so time is on your side right now.

I agree with G. Whenever I'm looking for cars, I consider modified cars much like overly tattooed or pierced women - they've both probably seen more than their share of hard rides.

Not that this will affect your sale, but new 2006 G35 Coupes (both auto and manual) were listed at discounts of up to $7,000, and the most affordable were $29,500 or so (yes, some were at the low to mid thirties) at a Chicago dealer as recently as two weeks ago.
