I've been having alot of overheating problems with my 240 and me being a dumb a*** i was stuck n a winter storm last winter and had to drive it up a hill. As i was diving up the hill(in 1st gear the whole time)my temp meter started to rise until at the top of the hill it went past hot and jus cut off on me. when i tried to start it up it would make this whining noise but then wouldnt make any noise.....About 2 months later my battery was dead so i charged it up and after i connected everything i tried to start it up. when i turned the ignition the engine fan started to move and made a sound as if it wanted to start it......i dunno what the hell is wrong with my car. what should i do to get my car running again????? I want to turbo the ka instead of getting a sr or ca but money isnt good with me right now at all. i wanted to know is it possible to do a rebuild on the engine??? how much would it cost me??? I jus want it running please help me and thanks in advance

If the car overheated, alot of internal things could've been damaged.

When I overheated my 93, the head warped and the exhaust valves on #3 and #4 burnt out. ~$700 worth of head work. You're probably looking at at least $500. In any case, an engine that's been hot will have who knows what minor internal damage, so if you're planning boost, a new engine is on deck anyway. Best option (from what you've said here; take it to a mechanic or three and get professional opinions) is to pick which engine you want to start with and start saving up for it now.

dude your valves must be really bent , i bet it overheats just going 3 blocks down the road i had that happened to my zenki two weeks after i bougth it that was abou 3 years ago got it fixed that same month but that was all just bent valves, it goes around $300- $500 mine was like $350 but i did all the labor takin the engine apart and put in it back together just take the head to get it fix . while your at it , you shoud drop some new pistons and rings if you go turbo you will defenetly need too and new seals, gaskets, and maybe a new timing kit that what i did to mine and it paid off big time
