I have a 2.5sl and have always had v-6 and v-8. The take off is slow and I want to know if there is anything I can do to increase that power.

Cut holes in the floor and push with your feet.

Good call on that.

The only thing that could give you noticeable lower end power would be a turbokit. A v4 isn't ever gonna give you a kick in the a**, unless you have some crazy mods, or you're willing to drop 3-4 grand.

Unfortunately an aftermarket intake will only give you sound and a bit more higher end.

Yeah the Altima don't offer much off the line. Most of the kick is in the high end and good for the freeway and lane changes.

Does that actually work that well? I've heard it can do some mean stuff to a headgasket and pistons.

to be honest I thought my car felt smoother and hell yes I noted the difference. After a while you dont notice it since your foot gets used to it.

I dont know if its bad for the engine but most nissan techs that I know do it. so i hope and should be good

tell them that you want an advance timing done on your car. they will probably ask why? just tell them you are driving to a place that is over 4000ft over sea level. (they usually do this to some vehicles that are sold in places like Colorado and Utah because of their altitude) I dont think you will sound stupid I think its a pretty common thing to do.
