Right now i have a 1990 240SX (S13). Right now i have no mods done to it...so basically everything is stock except the 17" rims on it now. I'm planning to get a SR20 swap later on.

But right now i'm wonderin if there are cars i can beat...or if i have to get the mods before i'll beat any other cars.

some of those twin cam saturns can be pretty quick. but hey, its still a saturn. I can stay up with my buddies v6 firebird, but he doesnt know how to drive. I actually got spanked the other day by a stock looking 03' cavalier (that's embarrasing).

The Saturn SL series cars run 16.5-17.1s with a good driver depending on the specific year and make (SL1s are faster than SL2s). A 1990 stock nissan will run 16.5. Keep in mind these times are from testing on a fairly new car with a pro-driver.

Just don't street race. Is proving you can school a Saturn really worth Felony criminal charges with a fat speeding ticket on top of it? One of my friends got busted with felony charges for racing a beater truck that revved his engine at him at a stop light. He knows it's not worth it.

Tell the guy if he wants to race he can put in a few dollars to go to a real drag racing strip. Maybe make the loser pay both racing fees. If he gives you more crap, he's probably full of **** and insecure about his slow-*** car and probably some OTHER things. He he.

Once you have the SR... NO FRIGGIN CONTEST.

Peace out

This chart is pretty nice (good job to whoever did it)It seems that a stock S14 can take out 60% of the cars on that list, which is pretty impressive.

You have a cool car. But it's slow. Period.

Focus on getting it back to "as new" condition, (which will take time & money) then worry about mods.

Doesn't matter what you can "beat", as that topic has been debated and argued since cars were invented.

Once your car is well-maintained and has good tires, suspension bushings, etc., then go check out an aotocross event or an import drag event. Start there, and let the "Import Bug" do it's thing. :D

Actually, whoever compiled that list didn't double-check their data. I gave up after finding several errors...

Cars that don't exist (del sol Si, 240Sx SE-R), a Buick Roadmaster running 15 flat? A 95 Eldo running a 14.8? An Omni GLHS @16.2 (they run in the low 15's)? A 95 Civic EX @ 16.8? Mine brand new did 15.9. 94 and 95 Q45 are IDENTICAL cars - why the .8 second difference? A 97 Q faster than a 95? A Prowler in the 14's?

Whatever. :rolleyes.

Hey, I just found it, I didn't write it. Just trying to give the guy something he can use against that Saturn guy so he doesn't have to street race. But yeah, some of that stuff does sound a little off. The Saturn and Nissan info seems pretty realistic though. Good eye hitman. Those times do seem a little quirky. I found another bunch of quarter mile times here http://home.earthlink.net/~jfgalbraith/qtimes.html

Don't worry about it. I used to be into street racing too. It just seems like a worse and worse thing to do as time goes on though. Buy hey, it's better to learn a lesson late than never.

In my 2002 blazer I got an RSX through 1st gear...idiot didnt know how to launch just smoked his tires, also it was uphill and he didnt seem to quite realize the concept of wheight transfer and 260 lb ft of torque...I EASILY beat him up to about 30, and then he just left me behind...

The Eldorado though heavy, came with 275hp and 300hp, I'm sure it could do high 14's.. 6/94 issue of CD shows a 14.9 for a '94
