I try not to street race mine, even after the new motor. I know it's not fast so there's really no point. Plus, I've had too many tickets in my life and dont wanna lose my licience again.

there's not many cars that the sohc 240sx's can beat. We are a pretty slow bunch.

you should ONLY race your 240 if you have a manual. You will be blown away all day if you are an automatic. If you are an auto and the car next to you is a manual, most times you will be beaten.

correction, there arent many cars that the sohc can beat N/A ;) You shouldnt be able to beat an SHO with your mods, if you do, then they need some driving lessons.

ive found that i can beat hondas without a motor swap, besides the s2000 and the rsx, you can beat older celicas, other 240s, ****ty mustangs, some FCs. none of those cars stock, nor any stock 240 is fast by any means.

um unless it was a base RSX, ill say BS

the RSX S runs a tested 15.4...which is pretty much faster then any stock 240sx around...and honestly i'm tired of these threads

yeah, the 240 in stock form isnt the fastest car, but you can beat most of the ricey honda's! My 240 on the other hand has a motor swap and will be able to destroy anything around these parts on the highway!

why all the bench racing, get out there and do it. Take it to a road course, 1/4 mile racing is very boring.

Stay away from SHO. Gonna get spanked even by the oldest one running in decent condition.

driver skill is very important, if the other driver sucks you can beat him no matter how good his car is, that is also if you are a good driver.

This the actual pax times of a recent autoX.

The 2 240sx have most suspension upgrades as well as cai and racing slicks and experienced drivers. With a little bit of work they can be quite fast on shorter road courses.

The 240 can take all kind's of huffy's, little red wagons, and shopping carts, it's all about the driver though...you have to watch out for those mopeds.

ya i beat sum 3000gts from the line and roll , beat a civic si from the line and then another si with i/h/e but his clutch is goofy but still beat him, preludes new and old styles, beat a older ws6 firebird real good, umm then the ricers with grand ams and other not so good cars like that, and my car has like 200, 000 and just custom cat-back and filter adapted, very pleased with the performance, but i have a 91 but it gives u a ruff estimate of what u can hang with

Equal drivers...a SHO, an older one which were the faster ones...will put a serious hurting 240sx of any thats relatively close to stock. DOHC, SOHC, don't matter.

Also a 91 auto 240sx, as stated not in good running condition will not beat a 2000 Prelude, whether the prelude was auto or manual....unless the prelude tried starting in second or tried to race you in reverse.

These threads are getting old unless you're asking about a specific car and wondering how you'd do against it. Almost always they branch off onto all other kinds of cars beyond what the original person posted.

So for the record, and SHO will SHO you its tailights...very quickly.

edit: track is where its at, the shiat is recorded.

Well if I'm quick on the light I can get a Greyhound bus off the line, but he usually stays ahead because the vehicle is so long :D

edit: i don't mind these threads when the person is asking others about expereinces against other certain cars...its when it gets into the whole 'well last week i beat a _____ with exhaust, girlfriend, intake and rims in my stock 240sx that has only cai and hks exhaust, slipping transmission and running on just 3 cylinders.'
