So...I decided to pull my intake cam and have a look at the lifters as well as replace the leaking exhaust cam seal. Well, got the ex cam seal out (hard as a rock...def time to replace) and the CA18DE cam seals I bought don't fit. I read in another thread that Z32 ones will fit, but I wanted to have an idea before I go up to work and start opening box after box. Thanks.

SR cam seals are built into the valve cover gasket, Id like to have a manufacturer produce something similar for the ca18det.

I dont know who to contact or where to start though?

in regards to your seals, I was under the impression the ca18de seals were the same as "det"

Are you sure they gave you the right part? DE and DET cams are interchangable so i don't see why the cam seals are different.

I am store manager of an Advance Auto. So I looked them up. So yes, according to my system, they are right. I was able to get the FAST number off of http://www.sxoc.com and cross them. Oddly enough, they are listed as trans pump seals haha. I have to go pick them up and I will post the Federal-Mogul number later on.

Now if I could just get these damn lifters apart....

Your talking about the little half moon seals? My de and det motors have taken the same ones... ive swapped the cam covers a couple times. I got new seals from napa... they fit both heads (de and det) and cam covers the same.

No, I think he talking about the seals that actually go on the cams themselves. They're on the front of the head behind the cam gears.

I'm like 90% sure I used they pulsar ones... but since mine leak maybe that's the problem? It's weird that they wouldn't be the same though...

I concur with liquid neon,

half moon seals and lip seals for front of cam are both DE/DET interchangable.

DE and DET in australia are definately the same, I don't see why US would be different. They are also the same as the oil pump seal on both motors. However it is different to the rear wheel drive manual gearbox front seal.

Sorry I should be more specific, genuine nissan seals are the same on a jdm motor...

Ok, so the right number (in case anyone runs into the same issue, and so they can search this thread) is BCA-National (Federal-Mogul) 224052. It is in fact listed as the oil pump seal at Advance Auto Parts.
