I'm curious as to the most popular brand of oil filter everyone uses for their classic z and why. I use an OEM Full brand just because I figure nothing is really better than OEM as far as oil filters go.

K&N on my Z31. Kevin on 88Hybrid got one and liked it. So when the car was down for a CHTS & timing belt job, I figured why not change it?

Not the best of ideas. I can tell it's a good filter, but I'd like it alot better with a bit better oil presure. Probably the fault of some worn out components that I say I'll replace but probably won't since I'll end up spending that money on the S30.

purolater invented the modern oil filter as we know it, they have many mroe years of R&D than anyone, bottom line, change your oil and filter = no problems, brand really isn't too important

purolator pure1, napa gold and mobil1 filters are all great filters. can't go wrong with oem either.K&N filters flow well, but should be changed out every 2500miles minimum as their filtering quality isn't quite as good as the other filters. There are some really good writeups on oil and oil filters if you search around. i know the mkIII supra guys running the 7m-ge or 7m-gte are abolute nuts about oil info, as that will make or break a 7m. try supramania.com, they have great info there.

I normally run either Mobil 1 or K&N depending on what I can get my hands on.

Puralator Pure One, it's now the best filter on the market, beats the K&N and Mobil 1

Plus, as someone earlier mentioned, they invented the modern oil filter

I agree a premium filter like mobil 1 or k&n i use the k&n on pretty much everything myself, I know for the most part all filters are the same but take fram for instance walmart told them make your filters cheaper or we are not going to carry them guess what they did. At least with one of those brands i know they havn't been influenced by a big corperation telling them how they should make there product
