I purchase a 2009 Versa Sedan base model w/o radio and just put my own radio in it and was just wondering if anyone knows what brand of speakers are the stock ones. I was surprised as to how well they sound for what I listen too.

I personally like the stock speakers - i have just the 4 - but with my amp and sub and some tweaking, they do really well for the mids and highs

Are you sure about that. Blaupunkt seem to be a pretty good brand I was figuring Pioneer or Jenson something like that.

Yep, Blaupunkt all around. Good stock choice by Nissan.

Yep. Blaupunkt. I've taken out the speakers to see for myself. That was actually the brand of speakers I installed in my Neon that sounded quite good so I was surprised to find these (although just paper whizzer cone speakers) in my Versa stock.

I thought they were Pioneer speakers... is it different if you have the "technology upgrade" or w/e it is that includes the 6 disc cd changers all that?

I seriously think my stock speakers suck like s***. I was thinking about upgrading them.

I don't know too much about audio but they probably seem to suck like s*** because it has more of a neutral sound. Most people like amped up bass and treble.

For some reason, I just can't find a medium for nice mids. Our stock system IS very neutral. That's the word.

After test driving my brother's 09 Civic SI, their stock audio system is like 100k times better than ours. Granted they're not in the same class of vehicles, but now Honda did it right with the Civic's stock audio system.

I upgraded my speakers to some Kenwood's on the stock headunit. Sounds 10x better already including a sub/amp combo. Recommended!

Nice. I still don't have a sub. Money's been tight. Bass is definitely lacking. The stock door speakers don't sound the best (heard much worse though) but those a-pillar tweeters actually do work pretty well. The treble is clear and not annoying like cheap speakers like Sony X-Plods and such .. The stock system in a S model Versa without those tweeters sounds like complete crap. The deck even sucks hard. Single disc with no features. So outdated

I had the 6 cd changer setup...I also had the Blaupunkt made out of recycled toilet paper. I replaced mine with JL's all around.

I bought a Nissan Versa 2010 1.6 Base without radio.....was wondering if the car comes with stock speakers or if I need to install the speakers also with Radio?

Thanks

I removed my stock speakers shortly after getting my Versa.

I don't know what brand they were, but they were cheap as hell. Flimsy plastic and paper. Hahah. The new Clarion speakers I put in weighed a ton more, were constructed from metal-like material, and had thicker cones.

Unfortunately, the tweeters they came with are way too bright and I need to fix it...

Blaupunkt is a good brand as is Pioneer but they're gonna put the cheap stuff in an econocar. I upgraded to some Pioneers and while they don't sound too much different, the treble is more clear and it has more of an open airy sound. With a good clean sub (I recommend 10" subs for their tightness), it sounds pretty decent. Soon, the Pioneers will be amped.

Edit: Oh funny funny. The post above me seems to be a new way to spam. Copy someone's post and throw a link in it.

what JL model have you installed ?

Have you also replaced the twitters speaker located in the a-pillar?

Also what size are the stock speakers (front and rear)? 5 1/4 or 6 1/2

Thx!

I have a question and hope to get some suggestions. I use to drive a civic2008 and really liked the audio system/speakers. I now drive the 2010 SL with Nav package. This includes 6 speakers apparently.

I don't like the sound and would like to get something better.

Suggestions? Replace the speakers? Add a sub? Can I replace the Nav deck? What should I do to make the sound better?

The front and rear are 6.5. I tore apart the factory speaker and used some of it to mount my Polk 6.5 Momo's. I am glad I did it the way I did because the low end is so much deeper than it was without that factory piece.

The SL factory speakers are ok. If you think the S or base model speakers sound good then getting a Polk or Infinity will blow your mind. I think Polk has better lows and mids and Infinty is more mids and highs.

My Polks without an amp and an Aftermarket Pioneer DEH-4000UB sounded very good. Some songs really made them hit hard (in the car).

I did eventually put 2 12's and an amp in the trunk. I just got the Kenwood Bass Pack and they do quite well.

Base model here as well and I agree, I have an aftermarket radio and they're pretty good. Next audio mod is tweeters.

Clean, get some component speakers. You almost spend as much on tweeters. It would be a step up even if you get the Clarions on cCrutchfield for 79 bucks.

Unless you are getting some really inexpensive tweeters on eBay or something. Either way I am sure you will be pleased with having a little more treble.

I got the tweeters that came in my brother's Z(BOSE system)...they should be pretty good.

That's a great idea!
I put Xplod 4ways in the front, and they are sooooo much clearer.
But when i amped them down to 80Hz in the sentra, they had very little mid-bass thump.
I will try that for all 4 doors...time allowing...sigh
How did the adaptation go?
Advice?
Can the driver's door speaker be angled toward me a bit more?

How does the 6cd head unit sound with the JL's?

Does the stock head unit have enough juice to move the JL's or is there an amp between the headunit and the JL's?

The Blaupunkt are provided on the Base model but not in the SL with the 7 speakers package( 6+sub). I was very pleased with the audio quality of the car but after reading all the posts here, everybody are positive with the replacement of the OEM speakers. So Last week I bought 2 pair of Polk DB571, I read multiple reviews and these speakers are very well rated (For this range price).
Saturday, I removed the door panel to installs these, I have been surprised to see my OEM speakers, I was expecting to see cheap speakers but the cone of my speakers are not made of cupboard and the surround is made of rubbers(not cheap foam). I removed them and looked at the back of the magnet, these are CLARION speakers. 2 ohm impedance , 40 watts. (The Stock radio unit is also a CLARION).

At this point I was not sure what to do, So I installed one Polk DB571 in the front driver side and keep the stock Clarion in the passenger side and I FADED all the audio to the front speakers.

The OEM Clarion are more powerful (probably because there are 2 ohm) and has a lot better mid range and low frequency response.

With the POLK the voices sounded more clear and the high frequency sounded very good (because the Tweeter is mounted on the speaker ) but almost no BASS.

After this test, the choice was not hard to do, I removed the POLK DB571 and I am keeping my stock Clarion speakers.

I noticed the same thing when I installed my JL C5-650's. A lot of my bass went away. But, I left them in and after a few weeks the speakers seemed to loosen up and have lower response. Also I plan to add an amp to them soon, and the stock speakers wouldn't happily take 150 watts. I think the after market speakers with the larger magnets require extra power to make them perform.

the bass gets slimmed down because most speaker set-ups are expected to have an amp and sub added . aftermarket speakers are designed to cut low end frequencies for crisper mid and Hi's when a sub is handling all the lo end.
