What brand 2 -way lsd for drifting?

Nissan dominates the drift scene - Always has, always will.

Some people have very strong opinions about which is best but they all seem to conflict. So before I go blow $1000, anyone have first hand info about which will take the punishment and which are a pile of bull pucky?

(I use the word 'punishment' loosely as I'm running an S13 with stock KA)

Let me know what you think.

I have used a Cusco RS for the last few years.I LOVE IT.

I got a Nismo in my new car, but I really want to take it out and get a CUSCO again.

What about the NISMO don't you like? Or do you just like the CUSCO better?

I run a Kaaz 2 way and have no complaints. Plus, if you need a re-build, parts are readily available.

so far the CUSCO feels WAY WAY WAY more aggressive than this Nismo seems to be.

like others have said a 2way lsd would be your best bet.

i run a nismo 1.5 way and it has been fine =). i <3 it berry mucho. it doesnt lock as aggressively as a 2 way though.

i have driven my friend's cars w/ kaaz 2 way and they lock up pretty well.

I have heard that nismo isnt that great for drifting. Tomi and cusco are ok. Kaaz is really awsome and kicks in instantly. It all depends on how much you got, and what you wana do with it. I have a welded diff. My buddy has gone through different LSD's with the different cars hes had. His las one was a Kaaz 2 way. He told me with his new car he wants to go welded cause he told me the differences between a kaaz 2 way and a welded arent worth the $ difference.

Kaaz are to soft due to the helical design and pretty average for serious top level competition, NISMO and CUSCO are among the best out there and last generally twice that of the KAAZ in competition (we went through two KAAZ in one season and are yet to break a cusco or NISMO in the last three seasons...)

if some-one tells you welded and a 2 way is the same they are amatuer to say the least the two behave very differrently at high speed....

I have a KAAZ 2-way. Very aggressive for street stuff. I haven't taken it to a competition yet, so I can't speak about that. It's locks very quickly. I have to pay close attention to how aggressive I drive in the rain because once one wheel starts to slip, the both go, causing unnecessary wheelspin, during normal driving conditions.

But when I want it to slide, it's very easy

friend has a S14 with a 2 way or welded (we didn't look), and its WAY to aggressive for me. can't get it to hook in the rain and really can't take a turn normal driving at more than 15mph. it does kick it sideways like "right f***ing now" though.

would anybody say that for drifting, daily, and road racing that a 1.5way KAAZ would be my best bet? i wont be drifting everyday or week, and i like road racing way better:)

btw, my open diff spins both tires lol
