I was watching one of my best motoring VCDs and heard this BOV in an S14, I don't know what kind it is though. It's not the typical "pissshhtt" sound. Can anyone identify it? I hear this kind of BOV more in these Best Motoring vids than the other kind that we're more used to.

Though there are tons of BOV's in Japan that I havent heard... it could be the ApexI Dual Chamber BOV, it sounds kinda like a sound a butterfly would make if it could. I have one i'll sell if anyone wants it, attached to the hotpipe of an SR. Heres a pic of it on my car so you know what your working with. :P

how do you like the apexi dual chamber bov? i'm probably going to get that model. i heard good things about it aside from it's loud sound. it has good reliability and good easy adjustability. someone's offering a really good deal on one so i can't pass on it. i was originally going to get the turboxs RFL. if you can change my mind about the dual chamber please state your opinions.

The only thing that i really dont like about it is the sound, its kinda weak. Rather than a pshhhhh I get a psh psh psh psh pshhh. It gets the job done. If I could get any BOV id get an HKS SSQV most likely or at least something that recirculates.

The first hiss is the blowoff the whoowhoowhoo is the turbo backpedaling. Strong blowoffs shut back down and the the air backs up in the pipes and cases the compressor to chatter like that. My wife's car does the same thing, most bearing turbos do.

the sound is the turbo not the blowoff valve.

The sound is the BOV, when I watch the spring release inside the BOV release, it coincides with the seperate sounds. Unless your telling me that the that the turbo backpedeling is making the BOV open repeatedly. I dont have a ball bearing turbo, just a T25. And the ApexI BOV is your regular BOV, not a racing BOV or one with a stiffer spring.

I'll sell the BOV for $130 on the hot pipe (not including S&H), though at the moment I really dont have the time to send it.

the initial whoosh sound is the blowoff, the whoop whoop whoop is the turbo chopping up pressurized air trapped in the piping because this dude's blowoff spring is too strong to be forced open again until he gets back on the gas and raises the boost back up. You are watching a video, I am driving this every day. I don't have a reason to lie to you. When I first heard that sound I went to every store looking for a rattlesnake blowoff valve too, it sounds great. If you want to hear it plug up up your blowoff and take off you air filter and do a couple of high boost runs. You will hear it chikachika! Bad for the turbo though, don't reccomend you keep doing it.

Im talking about MY bov, and the spring isnt too strong, do you have an ApexI bov too? Just put on some boost and watch the spring inside release several times. Or put your hand over the atmospheric release holes and feel the air get released in pulses.

Implicit do you have Paypal?

Blitz super sound, and mine pulses as well, however the sound in the video and under the hood of my car is as I described. No issues against your BOV it's a nice unit, just the sound in the video.
