What boost are you running on your built KA now?

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

And also, whats stopping you from going any higher? Just out of curiousity to see where everyone is at. I've ran up to one bar, but I havent been on the dyno yet so I dont want to go any higher just yet. Some of you have dynoed and ran at the track, with still running conservative boost (15-16psi).

I'm running 11 psi daily. Have been for close to a year now. Not running much more until the fuel system is totally worked out. But the car will be down all winter for that (and a few other things). :D

Actually, she does have forged goodies Dave. In fact, I'm just waiting for her to bring the car out to Tuscon after the 1st of the year so I can install a new fuel system for her. Should be a bada$$ little car when I get done.

Just for the record, from a professional stand point. Once the KA receives a built shortblock, it is really only lacking a good set of cams and some head work. If you use a turbine that will support the CFM's for larger HP numbers, I think 700 is attainable. I mean, look at the guy(forgot his name) on FA that is pushing 504hp with boost and a JWT. With that amount of boost, a set of cams and a good port job will improve flow so much it's stupid.

Of course we're talking about fuel/ignition tuning to go along with everything else. I absolutely can't wait to get back and build a complete animal of a KA powered 240. Who needs JDM when OEM is perfectly fine??

http://www.import-autoperformance.com http://www.ka24de.com both come to mind for having good prices on forged rods (I think they both carry Crower too but might not list it on their site)

Well, IAP has a NICO discount (or at least they did) and there is no shipping with them. Personally I just love having the owner's (Marc) cell number. Talk about good customer service! He's always kept me well informed.

well, it depends also what octane gas you will be running.Chris May maxed out with 72lb injectors and 93 octane at 17 psi. Just be careful.

Well, My car has seen 21 psi on the dyno but it was so unstable we let out of it. Also, my T04B15 just isnt cutting it anymore so its off the car, along with almost all my interior, transmission and drivetrain. Im going to be ripping the dash out soon and putting a piece of aluminum in place of it and the head is going to be reworked with some badass cams and different springs, retainers and valves as soon as I get around to getting ahold of Pornflakes (btw, Pornflakes, you interested in sponsoring someone? :) ) My car is officially becoming a road race/drag racing car, as I just bought a 86 Mercury Grand marquis.
