Sorry i'm posting a similar thread but , I dont wanna be a thread jack!!

Ok guys to begin , I am proud to say I no longer belong to the NRRBA.I am gonna start posting pictures soon. My car started as a shell and a motor at my friends house , and I helped him during alot of the work , but he got tired of the car and I told him I would trade a CRX that I bought for $300 for the whole car , YES I got the RB20 motor set , wiring harness, body with no doors and vlsd for $300 bucks.

My transmission was gone so I went with the KA/RB Frankenstein. Yes the shifter sat real back(s13 body) , so I remember my friends 5.0 shifter that is like kinked to fit so I copied that. It worked by welding a screw to the shifter that was cut and faced forward instead of backwards , ill post that pic too. I got a camaro aluminum drive shaft customized to fit. I got a stage 3 xtd skyline r32/z32 n/a clutch. All is well except here is my first problem inside the bell there is a grinding noise and it stays untill clutch pedal goes in and put into a gear, then its just the purr of my sweet 3" exhaust .

What shaft bearing and what throw bearing should I be using for this kind of transmission swap if anyone can help let me know ?

Sorry I cant post the pics till tomorrow.

You sure you got everything put back together correctly in the trans?

Whirring can be normal bearing noise.

Grinding is NOT.

You don't still have the stock automatic pilot bearing in there do ya?

Cant remember if i kept the original pilot bearing.

It's like a mix of both whirring and a light grind too , Kinda like really dirty skateboard/rollerblade bearings with a whirr .

I'm taking it to the trans guy he has to open her up and change a bad sychro that he left on there and it grinds between 3 and 4. So imma tell him to inspect everything. But i will keep everyone posted .

Is there anyone with this transmission swap or has had it before, can you tell me what bearings you used .

Thanks
