My buddy is buying a 240 with an RB25 in it. The swap isn't running and it needs a battery. Were going to pick the car up today, the problem is that it's raining out and the windows are down on the car. So we need a battery to get them up. So what battery do you need for the RB?

I'd recommend a car battery. Boat and motorcycle batteries might be strong enough to run the window motor, but probably can't crank the engine.

windows require 12v and a few amps. a motorcycle battery (that is charged) would get the job done.

If you need a regular engine battery, OEM group size for 240sx or Z32TT is what you want. I don't remember what group it is.

I didn't know how many CCA's the RB25 needed. We just picked up a 350z battery.

I know nothing about Nissan motor's. But I'm gonna learn a thing or two getting this turd running. We need to hook up the fuel lines, bolt up the IC and get the piping on, bolt up the DP and exhaust, get the rad in and wire the fans. The dash is out so we need to put that back in. The car came with everything we need. We have to send the cluster out to get done so the tach will read. The guy said he wouldn't recommend doing it ourselves. I have socked lots of ECU's and done my fair share of wiring. How hard is it? Are there any good write up's on how to do it?

I would read through the stickies before you touch the car... It alot harder then just slapping it in and starting it up! Good luck and welcome to the work of the RB Money Pit!

As per the gauges working... use a 96 N/a 300zx speed sensor... your MPH will be dead on (Well MAYBE +/- 2 or 3mph if off at all)... the Tach... pull the tach face back a little (Dont break nothin...) theres a little silver pot there with like a phillips style head inset down in it... turn that little sucker all the way clockwise (might need to tune it a little back and forth) your tach should be on or near on... (Mines +/- 100 IF that)... coolant temp gauge... use the stock KA24 sensor and connector on the single wire (Should be blue with a black stripe) the double wire connector there is for the ECU) And your gauges should be good to go =D

(Check your speedo with a GPS if possible, i used a tomtom. Check your RPM with an aftermarket computer, or if you want to get REAL ghetto... tune it till it idles around 800... drive it and hit the rev limiter... if the needle's where its supposed to be when the rev limiter kicks youre good to go)

What are ECU options. It came with the stock ECU and thats great for now. But some day I'm gonna get this little bastard to upgrade a thing or two. Is there any options for socketing the RB ECU? All I can find on socketing is in the CA forum. I have done lot's of ECU work on Honda's and I have a Moate's Burn1 which I know works with NIS Tune. I think I'm just searching for the wrong thing.

Also we need to retain the stock BOV. Were just gonna hack the stock flange off the OEM piping and have it welded on to the new. I noticed the BOV had the diamond starts on it. Is it just a DSM flange?
