Wow, I'm really suprised to see so many people going with suspension first...it's probably the last thing I'll touch. I learned how to drive camry's and blazers well at the limits so if I can take some much quicker cars through the curves in those I dont think I need to change anything on the 240 in the suspension department until it wears out :)

I LOOK AT THE ENTIRE PROJECT AND BUILD MY SETUP AROUND WHAT I WANT TO DO.

I NORMALLY HAVE AN ENGINE AND POWER RANGE IN MIND THEN I BUILD MY BRAKE SYSTEM TO MEET ITS NEEDS, THEN SUSPENSION AND CHASSIS/SAFETY, THEN I DO THE DRIVETRAIN AND TRANSMISSION, THEN THE BEAST GETS BUILT AND ALL THE OTHER MISC GADGETS GET INCORPORATED.

Hmmm, it is a close race, but given the fact that the SR is pretty stock with BPUs, I would have to say that suspension wins out on this one...

And just FYI, I don't have a radio in my car and I never have, nor ever will. When I bought my 240 it didn't have a radio or speakers so I grabbed the radio wiring harness and ripped it out, pulling with it all the speaker wires and stuff. I then took out all of the speaker baskets and threw them away. So if you want to ride in my car, you get to hear exhaust, wind and BOV sounds :)

where could u get z brakes for 200?

If it's a commuter, I'd upgrade the stereo. I'd leave the suspension alone, as it ruins the ride. it's already a terrific handling car.

If you're going to a track that involves turns, and driving your 240 to and from the track: tires and brakes first. No doubt. Then engine. THEN suspension.

If you're going to a drag strip, engine first. stock 240sx's are slowin a straightline.

But the mod with the biggest bang for the buck is improving your your skills. I'm talking hi performance driving schools, more than one.

1. If it's a commuter car, you shouldn't upgrade the stereo first. And i never considered the stock suspension along with run-of-the-mill tires as equaling 'terrific handing.' Even mild suspension mods, for example: gr2's, pro-kit, roll bars, directional tires, better brake pads--- don't ruin the car's characteristics, but gets rid of the squirrely-ness by a LOT and makes the car more pleasurable to drive for the daily commute.

2. tires, brakes, suspension, roll cage, etc * then * the engine if your'e seriously getting into amateur/club racing. there are many club spec racing ( i think ITA cars)pig-nose s13's or other 240's that run the n/a KA24e engine due to it's higher compression. it's odd, yes.

3. true. they're slow for drag racing.

4. that makes the most sense right there!;)

crappy tires are good for practicing drifting and doing burnouts, and thats about it.

I have done a little bit of everything but engine performance, where i have done a LOT of stuff, but still not finished.

it's hard to decide on only one area!

i do every one except audio, not a big fan of all the huge speakers or things like that, i just need a decent CD player and that's enough.

no offense to anyone, but i really dont like when ppl blast their stereo to the max. and have their arm out of their driver side window, shaking their head with a baseball cap on backwards, bass all the way up...etc...and then think they can drive fast! WHAHAHA:D :D :D

yeah. i had the stock tape player/ hollow-blown out speakers in my car for about 4.5 months before i spent money on a head unit and new speakers. i need better ones than the 6 1/2's i got. they still are hollow sounding. but knowing myself. that won't get done till another 4months later. cause i really like my exhaust note more. :D

Beat them down with more offensive music. I have found that a bigger stereo loaded with say Primus or even Classical turned up slowly while staring at the other guy so he knows it's because of his weak system that you are cranking it up will cause him to turn his crap down or drive away emasculated.

That might not work for you girls, it's kind of a "mine is bigger than yours" thing that women don't usually find a viable option but it works.

I consider suspension (at least, what I'll eventually end up doing) performance. My plans are to do a lot of handling work as well as engine bolt-ons (i/h/e, ecu, maybe cams) for now, then going turbo in a few years. Cause, let's face it, who DOESN'T want to turbo?

yea that doesnt work for me though. i hate when guys do that outside my apartment, when i am cleaning my car outside wearing shorts and a tee nothing skimpy, but they think they are all that just to show off their system, and funny enough, i never find that attractive, i am not an import model! :D LOL <-- ok that was mean!

yea that usually is the case, when i hear someone drives by at 1am in the morning...i am just so annoyed, they think other ppl dont have a life or a job or school to go to the next day!

and i hate when even my friends do that, coz then when i call them, no one will pick up!

as far as revvin'-show-off's go... that's when i usually look off into the distance and act like they're not there.

a male co-worker and i were hanging out at a dunkin donuts, shooting the sh*t and some riced out rsx enters in the 'do not enter' exit of the parking lot, parks parallel in front of some other hondas and thumps his stereo. so we keep talking. and he rev's his engine at us (aw, they try so hard). we kept ignoring him. .. it was fan-tastic

"don't make eye-contact, that's only encouraging him" ..mwahaha

You ought to get them all hot and bothered and then ask if you can drive their car. If they say yes mercilessly pound on it until the engine blows!:D If I was a hot chick I would have sooo much fun with stupid guys, I would probobly be a lesbian though, I really don't understand what is sexy about men to women. Of course women are really mean to each other so maybe not. It pretty much sucks on both sides it seems:( I think the stereotype that women are all bad drivers would probably piss me off if I were a woman, I think it's dumb as a man. I do look good in heels though hmm, uh whoops I think I may have said too much:eek:
