I have been looking at a cheap daily driver and found an Isuzu Stylus XS with a little over 100,000 miles and the dealer is asking $500. It is running and looks decent with a straight body. I believe it is a 1991; although it could be a 1992 or a 1993. These were the only years they were made. I do know the handing/suspension was done by lotus; there are lotus emblems on the car and research proves such. What do you guys think...if he is asking $500 surely he will take $400.

Looks are bland, but it would make a great daily driver I'm sure. I'm not sure, but this might share chassis with the Impulse and Geo Storm, and I assume if it does, it's the same Lotus suspension as the Impulse. If that's the case, it has great potential to be a super sleeper.

400 bucks? Buy it and beat the crap out of it. Remove all the extra seats and use it to haul stuff!

I work for an Isuzu dealership, and asked my Master Tech about this vehicle for you. His opinion is to stay away from it. Burnt valves are common to the engine. You'll spend a fortune on parts; most parts, if still available, will need to be bought through an Isuzu dealership...yes, there are parts that even we can not get for this vehicle. Hope this little bit of info was helpful.

I never saw a stylus till I moved to houston, and now it seems I see one every other day. Are they fwd? rwd? I dunno. I thought some of those older isuzu's were rwd. anyway they look like kind of unique cars.first time I saw one I was like "stylus? I have one of those on my tablet pc.."

The stylus had no GM twin. The impulse did, but they are fwd... HOWEVER the Isuzu Impulse RS is awd, turbo (uber hotness, most people here on NICO know how i adore the RS).

The only thing bad about the older Isuzu cars is parts availability, esp for the turbo RS model, only 3,000 or so made it overseas.

Behold the Isuzu Impulse RS:
