This would be for a good weather only car(5000 miles a year at the most). Looking for TT with manual. I am looking for a stock one and I will keep it stock (at least for the immediate future once I purchase it). I understand from reading that it is difficult to work on and being a 15 year old turbo is likely to have some problems. So what (if you can remember) was your first year cost (fixing everything the previous owner had broken) and your annual thereafter?

maintenance shouldn't be much on either aside from the 60k timing belt jobs, the problem is that when something breaks it's expensive to fix and you never know whats gonna break till it breaks

I bought my Z32TT about a year ago, very neglected, i did my own labor but still spent $500 doing the timing belt, with associated tensioners, idlers and misc belts, seals and hoses, I spent a couple hundred on new pads and rotors on all 4 corners, then spend a few hundred on new struts for all 4 corners, another few hundred on new tires and an alignment, and a few hundred on other misc problems such as the power steering hose and rack bushings, with all the problems solved maintenance has not been an issue as nothing new has broken

keep in mind this is a 200k mile car that was clearly neglected, if the oil is changed and the timing belt done, brakes replaced before they eat up the rotors, maintanance should be minimal
